If done fairly, congresspeople need not be involved. What is happening now is some states are redrawing districts between censuses and rigging the boundaries to ensure each has a majority of Republican voters.

Unless that happens to Republicans (and, barring civil war, it likely won't), the US may simply go through cycles of reasonable leadership followed by utter insanity, and no one will do business with them if it may last longer than an election cycle.

It's been a long time since I've just been out for a five minute walk through nature, but I had a chance today.

First, I was able to admire some chestnut tree flowers growing on a branch low enough so that I could get a good look at them.

This caught the interest of a resident squirrel.

And then I was able to meet some of the newest residents of the park.

And they keep fielding weaker and weaker "soldiers" while Ukraine strikes deeper and deeper into Russia itself. Again, the only reason to consider them a threat is they have nukes, but even Putin knows using them would be the last thing Russia does as a nation.
