@lolaodelola@mastodon.social do you know which AI provider they’re using? I’ve been researching these AI receptionist bots.

@mahaloz@infosec.exchange how can you ever get “perfect” decompilation? It’s a lossy process. Compilers can optimise different source code down to the same object code. Different compiler options will turn the same source into different object code.

Claiming that an LLM can hack a website is like claiming that a dictionary can write a novel #ai #openai #anthropic

Seriously? Five blokes in balaclavas, three white vans and a bit of petrol is enough to get the USAF to withdraw? Snowflakes.

Following the success of my book “Cups, Gravity and Hot Liquid : why actors can’t handle coffee mugs”, I’m now crowdfunding for the follow-up “That’s Not How Any of That Works: AI for non-tech journalists with a press release”

Is anybody on top of the recent #VLC CVEs? My employer has felt it necessary to disable VLC across all corporate devices. I'm usually fairly well-informed on newly-discovered vulns but I haven't heard anything that made me think it was *that* severe. Is there active exploitation going on?

Obviously, this being Mastodon, I should acknowledge that many people are far worse off and would love the relative luxury of a safe, boring job that pays a regular salary.

Now that macOS 27 has been released I’ve finally relented and installed macOS 26. I didn’t want it but I feel weird being more than one major version behind.

The lifts in this hotel are like the opposite of hitchhikers guide. You press the button and one of them pings like it’s ready for you to enter but it’s actually about twenty floors away and approaching at a snail’s pace.

@davidgerard@circumstances.run I got mad at a friend of mine twenty years ago for binning some books he didn’t have space for. Little did I know he’d invented a new VC racket like a tech pioneer.

Real headline in a normal, sane world would be “AI talks bollocks” but this is not a normal, sane world.
