wordpress has had several security releases recently. I have just uploaded the debian packages for Trixie. You want to be running 6.8.10 or 7.1.2 as these fix CVE-2026-87902 CVE-2026-93485 CVE-2026-65640 and Click2Shell

Clearly with all these recent Linux LPEs you need to merely rename /usr/bin/su to something else

@mjg59@nondeterministic.computer "filing for bankruptcy" is just another way of saying "strategic transaction to drive long term growth"
They actually called it that.

Like others my first thought was "Caves of Steel". Agoraphobia isn't blindness and the Earth isn't the moon.
Haven't heard of that Brunner one, I've got a fair few of his too.
Good luck on your search!

@NewtonMark@eigenmagic.net they should get a petition going on the same site that wanted to rename LOTR "the two towers" movie due to its cashing in on 911.

@Drbruced@aus.social I just listened to it yesterday and found it really interesting.
Besides describing the enhancement and why it matters (or not) the episode was a good review of OSPF and how the process of optimisation needs to be at the system level.
And you're right. You can take the SPF paper by Dijkstra and implement it relatively easily; I did in the mid 90s. I still got the photocopy of the paper somewhere.

A year later:
Disabling that IPv6 option *seemed* to fix the issue, we probably should proactively turn it off everywhere.

@AcornSquashbuckler@tech.lgbt i like the use of the log chart. Not enough log charts in the world.

@_thegeoff that's really cool. The neutron star example was interesting too. A bit further along than my "stuff gets squished and something weird happens" level of understanding.

@_thegeoff maybe they changed the names to give them unique starting letters?
It sounds like its one of those items that exists momentarily, is it likely to exist naturally, like in the middle of the sun for example?

@adamshostack@infosec.exchange that's caught speeding too. So the number of speeding but not caught surely is way higher than that.

@cwebber@social.coop how is it anything but a cost cutting exercise? They believe using AI is cheaper than people so they will have less people and more AI.
Its precisely a cost cutting exercise.

@b0rk@social.jvns.ca like how you used 'hard to undo'. I used to explain it by saying the inverse is really hard to do but that explanation is simpler.
