I've decided... I'm really kind of upset. I bought #Downcast for #Mac thinking it'd work. It doesn't. At present, the latest version on the latest MacOS results in the app freezing any time I go to settings to sync via the cloud or change anything. Sitting with it eats through memory until the Mac says noe and literally makes me close out of it because there's no more memory. I haven't found any other cross-platfor app that isn't subscription based apart from that one... And even that one just... isn't anymore. Help?

So, I've been seriously looking into purchasing a #bansuri. Thanks to reviews from my favorite artist, Iftekharul Anam, I've found a flute maker called Labu Flutes. Their prices are more affordable $65 for an E bass rather than $265 from Anubodh or $439.75 from Punam). Shipping to Canada is either $50 or $85 though, depending on shipping method you choose, and the only sound samples I've been able to find are from Anam's reviews of their Signature series. I've been able to contact them through WhatsApp of all things, but finding sound samples to express the tonal differences between their Signature and Bold lines has been a nightmare. Labu says there are no sound samples of their other flute lines. Don't think Anam would be using Labu instruments in his stuff though if they weren't professional quality. Is it really this hard to find something both affordable and of good quality that I can get shipped to the Western world? Blah! The fact they're so cheap in India makes me sad. If you were to pay Punam's Western world price in Rupees, it'd be over 37,000. Normally, you pay a couple thousand, if I'm not mistaken. Wish this market weren't so annoyingly difficult to traverse. Who in India wants to send me a bansuri? I'd pay you back LOL. Western prices are stupid. #Rant
Took me three days to figure out how to and get through the process of putting my document of Proof of Relationship photos together, but I finally did it! My husband is going to be modifying a few of the photos for me so I can get one or two photos along with their captions to a page, but I was the one who put all the info together. We still have a long way to go, but that's one rather difficult part out of the way. #CanadaImmigration
Just received the document checklist for my immigration process, along with a myriad of questions for me, my husband, and the two of us together. One of the questions is asking for photos of our wedding celebrations... a minimum of 20 photos, all put in a Word doc. In addition, we're supposed to put some information *in* the photos... I have absolutely no clue how to do this. Talk about a freaking nightmare. I knew it was going to be, but just how much of one, I had no clue. I'm just... so overwhelmed right now. I'm hoping our consultant will be able to help us with some of this. It'd be sooooooo nice to just answer all these questions over the phone and have somebody else put in all the relevant information.

Hello hive mind. Does anyone know when #Downcast for #Mac will be updated, or has it been abandoned? I unfortunately am not able to do anything with it regarding cloud sync because when I open preferences, app memory usage gets so high that the entire interface freezes. If I can make it to the Clud Sync setting, letting it sit just eats emory until I get an alert that app memory has run out. I am then forced to close it. PocketCasts seems intriguing, but I don't want to have to pay a subscription just to be able to sync properly between devices. I sent in a query about this a while back and have not heard a word from the developer.

Hello everyone, I'm looking into Basilisk, which is a program that allows you to have conversations with multiple LLMs and handle them all in one place if you have API keys for those LLMs. What I'd like to know is if there is a way to import my entire conversation history with, say, ChatGPT into Basilisk. There's very little documentation right now, and I'd like to learn more in general about how to use it. What are, as another example, conversation profiles? This program looks really interesting; and as I consult an AI regularly for different things and keep an organic conversation going, I think I'd find it very useful rather than having to navigate through the web all the time. Seven months in Canada and finally have my Sonos system set up properly. The wifi in our bedroom is sketchy, but it seems to be functioning well enough to play music without freaking out. That wasn't the case not too long ago. I don't know if our provider updated something or what. Eventually will be getting a mesh node, I think, to help handle device loads and better distribute signal to the back of the house where our bedroom is; but for now, this works. which is nice.

Okay hive mind. Is there anyone here who has successfully contacted #Glidance and received a response? I wrote two months ago and haven't heard a word back. Figured I'd ask you guys while I was waiting on a response to my second inquiry into this matter, sent just today. I pre-ordered a unit and 4-yr sub in July of 2024 and have since both moved and changed my name. Are these people actually responding to inquiries like they claim? I'm rather upset, as it looks like my sighted roommate, who resides in Utah where I used to live, will be receiving my Glide in the mail. I have no way at this point of ensuring that I can get it shipped to my present location in Canada. And due to their refund policy, well... if I can't change my shipping address and have it shipped to where I am, I won't be able to use it for the 30 days their refund policy requires. Soooooo! Thoughts would be most appreciated at this point. I really don't want to have to file a CC dispute at this point, as the few disputes I have had to file have never been successful. Thoughts welcome. Not too long after I asked if #Tweesecake had been abandoned, it gets updated. Certainly intriguing, but the keymap used for composing a post in the invisible interface doesn't bring up the new post dialogue. It looks like Windows 11 is grabbing it because I get a notification that comes up which says, "New notification from File Explorer, Error generated while getting the trace." The keystroke I did use for that now changes the nickname for a particular user. I wish there were a way to assign keystrokes from within the app, as those who aren't tech savvy are going to have a really hard time figuring things out. I'm finding I have to use the actual interface ore and more for things because of key conflicts with one thing or anotyer, which kinda voids the purpose of having an invisible interface, which is a lot of what I like about TWC and similar clients.

The voice I chose will work well... but if I can't use it other than for voice mode (which I can't use because privacy), what's the point? LOL
OMG LOL. I just totally figured out who played the voice of one of the Harry Potter Full Cast characters by the way he said words that ended in the letter N (fun, on, one, etc.) and no other sounds after the N sound. I sifted through my weird mental data bank of voices and finally was able to link that particular syllable sound with Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean, then figured it out from there. Looked up who played Davy Jones, looked up who played this HP character in the full cast audio dramas... Found out I was right. Am I weird or what? I've been able to do that for as long as I can remember. Take the tiniest little thing from a voice and go where have I heard that before? Then figure out some actor or other by associating that particular little cue with some other character they play.
I'm reviving this entry in the app directory again. Through a comment, yes, but I don't know how else to get AppleVis to post that it's being brought back into the light.
