Btw the writing course thing is going surprisingly well.
Only 4 weeks in and it looks like i'm going to be reading some of my stuff on a bloody stage with a fee paying audience in December.
They will suffer.
As will I.
Send help.

I'm playing all the right notes:
But not necessarily in the right order
George Square in #Glasgow still has a way to go before completion but they are getting there. Mostly https://peertube.wtf/w/xb93xzWjUZtfFPqYdtLnMD
Seen a thousand quid #ebike going locally for £60. Of course it needs a new battey and i'm damned if i see replacement ones for this model sold anywhere.

@scribblanitea@cupoftea.social I can actually play a trumpet (luck i don't own one). Always wish i'd learned saxophone. Still time eh.
My degoogled phone experience has declined over recent months. Frequently the default aurora app can't update apps and it's all got rather glitchy. I feel a need to reinstall or try another option. #DeGoogle
I think of all the classic but rare synthesiser excesses the Yamaha GX-1 must top the list.
When introduced in 1975 it cost $60,000 (circa $420,000 in today’s money), weighed 272 kg and really was just made as a luxury, very limited availability test concept and sold to seriously well off musicians (i mean polyphonic in 1975 was a rarity and with both horizontal and vertical after-touch).
Keith Emerson is playing one in the promo for ELP's Fanfare for the Common Man. He broke his, bought John Bonham's one which then was trashed when a runaway tractor ploughed into the barn(!) Keith was keeping it in so he then bought Hans Zimmer's GX-1. #synth #ClassicRock #ClassicSynthshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_GX-1
Just had a "zombie-cuppa". I drank it but I wasn't really there. What a waste. #tea

Just to say hello
Why has nobody made an electric toothbrush that channels music into your mouth as you brush your teeth so people brush for longer as they go full talk box ala Peter Frampton?
I've had my no mow May in July and the grass is now daft long but the bees are loving the flowering clover.
Don't make me resort to a strimmer to get this down again.Please.

Had to bite my lip reading one of those "we earn 80k but are struggling financially". People have big costs I guess just some more than others.
I've had this ancient cassette in a draw for like over 30 years and the tape broke (an old C120 so yeah daft thin tape) but i think there's something on there i'd like to hear. I do have a tape splicer but no splicing tape. I only need a little bit and splicing tape is a rarity thee days but one day i'll have to buy some just to see what rubbish is on the tape. #cassettes
UK politics (final thought , honest)
Love that there is a #synthwave track called DpaintIV.
Oh the things I did in Dpaint way back when. Suitably nostalgic track.

Well it has been a scorching18c today with lotsa wind and a few ultra light and barely felt spitty showers. I felt right at hone. #Glasgow

@_elena@mastodon.social This is playing out just as badly on Bluesky from what I read so brand well and truly trashed. Eurosky likely to be the happy recipient of disgruntled European users though they don't have the funding of W (in this case it has made little difference). Late stage capitalism eh. Just an undisciplined cash grab and to hell with working product or even ethical behaviour.
Good for completists but dammit where's the lost Man who fell to Earth soundtrack demo tapes?

Predictably there were a fair few fireworks going off around here last night. Oh the schadenfreude.

@lionelb@expressional.social I get the feeling that this one is going to be a CalMac Ferry level of ongoing frustration. If this isn't vibe-coded I'll eat my knees.
My radio app has BBC1 and BBC2 audio feed stations using the audio description option. Listened to Blade Runner on BBC2 for a bit last night with audio description which spoilt the Vangelis soundtrack as the description just filled so much of what you are listening to.
Miserable wet weather day here (aren't they all?) But have been visited by Alan Rickman cat (who did meow exactly like their namesake) with perfume cat though very fleeting. Both were drenched but clearly had more important business than having a Chinwag with me.
Ok.Music cred restored (as if i had any) though barely remember listening to this much. #cassettes #music
So the next viable #Glasgow vintage vehicles (busses) date is the London comes to Glasgow themed one on July 4th which coincides with the largest Orange order march through the city (give me strength).
Sounds like GoPro continue to be a company in trouble. Some are giving them until the end of the year in terms of survival. #ActionCameras #GoPro

@lionelb@expressional.social You can pay by card. You'll just have to enter it manually each time. Not convenient but fair enough.
New #Scotrail app coming end of July. The existing app will be junk. New app will require a new setup and won't save payment details but will operate with Apple pay and Google pay. Think I'll stay with Train Pal. At least they refund tickets.

@seedsignal@mastodon.social @_elena@mastodon.social Interesting. Admitedly that can still happen here with lone overworked admins on instances (if they fund the instance then it is their rules but mistakes are easily made when you are firefighting). Two different models of decentralisation (others will disagree re that term in relation to Bsky), each with their own pros and cons. I like to think it is more granular in the fediverse in terms of options.

@cliffwade@infosec.exchange Much empathy. The longer they aren't there the more we realise what they gave us. Best wishes.
Just saying but the NAC supplement i got smells putrid when you open the container. Luckily the capsules have no taste. You have to wonder.
Well that's our hot day over and done with then #Glasgow

Got out inbetween the light rain.
Tried some new Golden Wonder crinkle ridge paprika crisps. An oasis of joy in a world of otherwise shrinkflated crisps.
My other half has finished their open university diploma. Feeling empathetically proud they stayed the course.
I don't get what is going on on my degoogled phone. Aurora app has again stopped applying updates. Is this some kind of rate limiting? I'm going to hope it resolves itself again. I can see this is a common issue but what causes it for some seems unclear. #DeGoogle

@lionelb@expressional.social This is heavy stuff for a Monday. All I know is we eternally look for order in chaos though admit i'm emotionally drawn to the notion of a distributed one.
Some people are seeing Xmas stuff in some of the stores already. Have a word with yourself if you are a store with Xmas s*** in it right now.
