You know, there are many #linux guys on #youtube , and I am following a few of these.
Currently watching a discussion Matt from @thelinuxcast@fosstodon.org has uploaded, with him, Nate, Drew and Derek from @distrotube@fosstodon.org talking (sorry, I don't have #mastodon handles for Drew or Nate).
And strange thing...I come to view them as the guys I am hanging with regularly, my buddies (and we don't know each other at all).
Very nice, warm atmosphere, jokes, experience and wisdom dropped.
Thank you, guys, for that.
We need more of these and less of #toxic talk (The only Toxic allowed and tolerated by me is by #britneyspears ).

I set up my very first #linux #server today! Based on #debian #trixie , it gave me a bit of a headache, but the moment all has been sorted out and the remote access worked like a charm (that itself wasn't a problem, but to log into #ssh after assigning a static IP address was. I'll try to setup #jellyfin and see how it goes :) But at the moment, even Neo has nothing on me, lol

to be honest... how about instead of the #ageverification we forbid use of the manipulative #algorithms instead?
I don't see myself #doomscrolling #mastodon daily for hours (technically I can, of course), because I can see all I follow in less then 30 minutes.
So, instead blaming kids for their curiosity and urge to belong to online communities, let's fight #cybercrime #exploitation and #AlgorithmicManipulation .
Here, nothing new under the sun. Simple and doable.

@fallbackerik My journey through the world of #linux is great, so far. I don't distrohop anymore, as I have realized I just need one solid, stable distro for me to work on (I use #lmde7 as my daily driver, but used a few others as well. Not #ricing , waste of time. But #foss , no #telemetry and the question of a #digitalprivacy are enough for me not to go back to the corporate world. That's why I avoid #ubuntu based distros as well. As for the #server itself, Jellyfin has the biggest appeal so far, other ideas seem pointless for me at the moment. But the knowledge counts.

@mhd dear Lord...we had T602 (also Calc602) in schools back in the day, in Czechoslovakia and after the split. But I think it got phased out after Windows 95 and the MS Word dominance. ...those were the days :)

I watched the Take That documentary on Netflix last two evenings... and now I am spinning theie debut CD in my player...just because I can :) Well, 30 years ago it wouldn't have happened (first and foremost, I didn't own a CD player), but I am old enough now not to even be ashamed, haha :) #takethat #netflix #documentary

Using #fedilab to access #mastodon , and I am growing unhappy with the "fetch more posts" function. C'mon, I know that during my 8 hours of sleep there will be a lot of posts in my home feed - and I am OK with that, I can scroll through them all, no big deal. But clicking "Fetch more..." always jump ahead a few posts, then I need to return back....how about just let the user scroll in peace? #usercomfort #fediclient #Fediverse
