The surprise is when links start getting stripped. The absolute best case scenario is rules that are limited to domains to reduce "false positives"
There's also the inverse problem where someone relies on the feature to strip tracking and assumes that this will work on all domains, or at least one for which a rule hasn't been added yet.
Both of which kinda become way less of a problem if a "standard" library/list is simply pulled in, maintained by someone else, like adblock lists.
