I am a blind technologist, humanist, a voracious devourer of books, speaker, writer, and a thinker, who finds himself championing #accessibility for fun and necessity. I'm currently exploring the complex world of AR and VR worlds to find best ways to achieve full accessibility for disabled people.

Oh and give me your fun book recommendations: be it nonfiction, science fiction and fantasy, romance, mystery, and more.

USPolitics
In many ways we failed after 9/11. We gave up the freedoms that we only think we charish. We gave up too much control. Politicians who claim that freedom matters but support policies and practices that do the opposite have taken over. I genuinely want to know what lessons stuck—not many from where I'm standing. #USPol #USPolitics

Dear Humanware, Good god! How many emails do you need to send out to tell me that You'll be increasing your prices? And, since you're being "transparent" and all, how about you tell me what the prices will be for your products. I mean you do want to serve us poor folks *transparently!* Don't you? #accessibility #a11y

Your feedback is important. This year's survey includes questions about AI usage. This only took me a few minutes. WebAIM's Screen Reader User Survey is open now through August 31. If you are a screen reader user, your responses help shape more accessible digital experiences for everyone. Take the survey here: https://webaim.org/projects/screenreadersurvey11/ #Accessibility #ScreenReader #NVDASR

Oooo. I'm being recruited. This time, it actually looks genuine. Now to decide whether I want to take a job at the company for which I'm being recruited. Hybrid versus the freedom to not go to an office at all? Hmmmm.

@serrebi@serrebiradio.com In this case, I agree with NVAccess. They're trying to balance trust versus easy availability versus cost. There are a large number of addons with dubious code because of people using AI. This is not meant to be a personal reflection on you by the way. Frequent updates cost quite a bit as well. It requires them to ensure that the store doesn't become a source of complete anarchy.

There are some popular masto posts that I am just not meant to boost or talk about because I don't want the subject to take any more space in my brain than it already does due to our current culture.

@mattmay@mstdn.social My friend died 6 months later; I didn't have the time or the financial support for a venture by myself. The domain was gone in a week. We were going to start with an affiliate program, which would then turn into a credit card provider. We'd eventually become a bank, starting as a loan broker followed up by becoming a depository. We were aiming for what would now be termed a neobank.

After working for weeks on my Wixen Mail app—what I hope will be a brilliant Outlook Classic replacement, I'm finally comfortable enough to have attached an email account to the app during testing. I'm most of the way there for my alpha testing. I can't wait for you to see it. I've identified a bunch of issues I'm working through. Right now, I'm focusing on good documentation. Just a few more days before you have it in your hands. #accessibility
