I don’t think people realize how unbelievably quickly OpenAI could go *poof*
They are dependent on hyperbolic growth. If OpenAI is plateauing already, they’re in margin call territory by the fall. With money-losing products, 12 figures of debt, and key ICs making 7 figures plus, *in cash*, whose stock will be underwater.
It might be as simple as waking up one day and finding ChatGPT, and everything dependent on it, just stopped.
Watching SCOTUS coverage this hour across networks and the one group I havent’t heard anyone talk about is trans kids who want to play sports. But plenty about “biological men.”
This whole thing is a cryptofascist campaign to make trans kids (and adults) feel scary and sinister. We saw it in the UK, and now it’s here. Draw your battle lines accordingly.

Chatbots are cultivating a subculture of people who lie down and kick like a toddler when faced with the prospect of rubbing two brain cells together. It's so frustrating to see people who'd rather take slop as the gospel truth than locate and read a few hundred words that answer their question directly. Much less pick up a phone, or go to a library.
Kind of loving that Péter Magyar is going to be the PM of Hungary.
It's like having a German chancellor named Elena Deutschland, or a US president named Bob America.

Ruoming Pang signed with Meta for $200M (not a typo) last July, and left for OpenAI 7 months later (package not disclosed). It's that tier where the money is beyond comprehension.

But soon enough NVIDIA’s making a surplus, DCs are getting powered down, and some dominos like Oracle start to fall. They’ll swear they can contain the outbreak with a bailout, but by that point it’ll be a pandemic.
