Perversely, this quote seems to be fabricated by AI, not directly from Naomi Klein, tho I imagine she would endorse this summation

@JulianOliver@mastodon.social I have used dyndns for many years now, can always reach my home server and domain/s, and never really care what's the IPv4 or however often it changes.

@mattblaze@federate.social what do you make of the DOJ and DNI taking possession of Fulton county GA's 2020 ballot machines?

@dansinker@omfg.town @billrehm@mastodon.social it's not always expedient or conclusive but I continue to believe the moderation system developed and operated by the community of Wikipedia moderator/contributors stands alone on sustainability. I have proposed that these individuals should form a professional guild to license and accredit their services and processes to other social web platforms.

@kcanales02@mastodon.social @Brandi_Buchman@mstdn.social I've encountered resistance to the term reasoned in multiple ways, but always come back to it as there isn't any better or more more accurate single universally recognized word.
It's the fascism of our time, whatever we call it. They are the fascists of our time, using fascistic tactics and abuses of power, language, violence and the state.

@jmopp @argals I am only observing that a significant portion of Americans are hostile to the idea of public goods and public welfare and I'm pretty sure it's because of their racism and explicitly opposed to the sentiment expressed in the original post. I would rather we all were like the Norwegian, alas.

@indivisibleteam@mastodon.social the entire Republican party, elected, benefactors and voters, are not connected to reality.
They are demented and deranged, disinformed and ignorant

I understood the lottery proposal as only the mechanism to retain a manageable odd number of justices (from the expanded pool of 15) to hear a given case. Not a lottery to select who can be a justice. I assume they would continue to be nominated by the executive and confirmed by the Senate.
So while there would be one as many justices as there are circuits, they wouldn't all sit for every case...

I would argue that the historical and Orthodox GOP policy agenda not only has never been in the public interest but in fact consistently hostile to public interest, for generations

@chrisnelder@mastodon.energy @yogthos@social.marxist.network definitely good to seek corroboration but this is a proper journalism outfit in my experience, and I was able to load the article without subscribing. It appears to be faithfully reported to me, tho the part about seizing the investment doesn't seem to be strictly the case.

@ben@werd.social that's what I was thinking when I searched pocketcasts and didn't find it. I subscribed to another propublica feed a long time back and they haven't posted to it since March 2024...
Then I simply pasted the RSS link ...
I bet it comes back in pocketcasts search results soon?
