That concludes four days at #BrassBand camp for adults. 🎺
Both fun and exhausting.
Lovely day in #Fjærland

There's a German word which nicely describes the level of enthusiasm of the conductor on the speakers just now: tja.
Ah, I'd nearly forgotten the "joy" of driving on Norwegian roads in the middle of the day in summer.
Let our love shine a light in every corner of our hearts. 🎶

@futzle My parents recorded The Living Planet onto betamax tapes back then. I've no idea how many times I watched it—it was a lot. 😁
They had to find someone who could transfer it to VHS when we got a VHS player. It was the only thing I cared about. 😂

@Taweret I watched a documentary on Uranus not long ago. The narrator worked so hard at putting the stress at the start of the word. They only failed twice. 😂

@Taweret@timeloop.cafe I learned that lesson from reading Dante's Purgatorio. I had no ide at the time that there were three books, and I got that one first.
Don't get me wrong, Inferno is almost as much of a slog, but at least it has some interesting bits.

@ShaulaEvans "kverrsetje"
Norwegian Nynorsk. It means to fix in place or confiscate.
Most Norwegians would use the word "beslaglegge", which means to seize or confiscate, but I'm always delighted when someone uses kverrsetje.

@thegarbagebird @Louisa @Taweret That's right. If you *have* to be in close proximity to other people at least you don't have to "*see* them.

@mivox @Taweret Yeah. We've got an... assisted living centre(?) thing here, for people with amongst other conditions, down's syndrome. There's a business where they can work and they even got a band, supported by the local school for music and performing arts.
Happiest bunch of people in town, as far as I can tell, and they spread that joy to the rest of us. :blobcathearts:

@Taweret Are real estateprices higher in the lower left than in the lower right area? :thonking: 😏

@_elena@mastodon.social The Fediverse is a place which by its nature promotes building community rather than followers. It lets me meet interesting people to explore my interests with.

@apLundell People who drive on local roads in this country at least know not to trust satnav when it recommends local roads over the freeway. That's how you end up like this.

@venetiana My commiserations.
Just the other week I had to make the markup of one of our system's e-mails shit (and four times bigger in size) so that it would render the way we wanted it to in Outlook (everything else was already rendering it just fine). 🙃
