In Australien zuhause, lese gern, schreibe nur zum Vergnügen, höre Musik, reise gern, bin neugierig..
Lazy journalism? Two examples today, found by us.
- One guy from the country "We are sick of being lied to."
Obvious question: what are these lies you referring to?
- Some guy claims that singles are being robbed of their human rights.
Obvious question: Which human rights do you mean?
None of these questions were asked. The articles let it stand as some kind of truth even if they are just rage without justification given.
In theory, a hosting provider has a SLA to give our company a new host in less than an hour, if one fails.
(something with 384 GB of RAM etc.)
But I want to add another one to an existing cluster, they may need 7 to 10 business days.
It isn't a small provider, it is one of the bigger ones in Europe.
If that is a sign how the whole industry struggles just to satisfy normal demand because of "AI" datacentres...
It all feels completely bonkers at the moment.
Lost & Found: A book in NSW, Australia, was 150 years overdue. But the library of Kiama got it back.
The book's title: Antiquities of Athens.
That's all for tonight. Good night from Melbourne. We found the round moon on our night walk up high in the sky, sometimes hiding behind a veil of white clouds. It was cold but not too bad, so we enjoyed its play of light.

"Before the Iran war, Reiche promised she would let the market dictate policy, not the other way around. But she has been happy to carve out an exception for the fossil fuel industry."

The Great Scheme Of Things to finden.
An interesting article about electrical vehicles, progress and resale value.

We bought a new car for roughly 50k (Aussie dollars). Battery warranty 8 years. Battery replacement costs estimated today:ca. 25k, half of the overall value.
I wonder how it will look like in ca. 10 years time, also whether then newer and better batteries can be retrofitted in these cars.
