@wwahammy There should be some kind of free speech argument saying that you can't add restrictions for free software developers like this. (After all.... source code is very close to speech.)

@davidgerard@circumstances.run Actually, yes, you should buy #OnePlus 6. It is very well supported phone by mainline kernel, and they are getting real cheap now. You may want to avoid anything newer than that :-).

We are in "it would be cool to have camera drivers", "major pieces of infrastructure are missing" and "oh, people would like to record video?" phases. For "boring phone", OnePlus 6 + phosh should work. And yes, people are working on cameras (including me, we can talk at Fosdem), but we are not yet in the tuning phase.

Jako vazne. Hladovej zlutak je skvelej, kdyz jdete sbirat houby, protoze, kupodivu, neztratil trpelivost, a na pamlsek si primerene dlouho rad pocka, a kdyz je trava, vypada to ze by klidne cekal i docela dlouho. Jen ted mam pytel hub ktery budu muset zpracovat :-).

This is very, very, _very_ bad idea. It will mean you'll eventually need compatible (spying) phone, with compatible (probably spying) app, and your identity will be all over the network, helping spies and other bad guys. mobil.cz se "uplne nezlepsuje". Ceny stouply ruznymi triky v zasade 2-3x, a me prestava bavit premyslet, jaky trik zkusi priste. Za dobiti davali mesic internetu zdarma, ted davaji 10 dni, a dobiti 200Kc je skoro nemozne. 40Kc za internet na den uz mi neprijde jako slusna cena, byvalo to tusim 20. Plus se snazi cpat appku. Je nejaky operator na ktereho bych se mel podivat?

Je opravdu nutne sirit ezo-bulshit (aka lzi?). Tohle jsou seznam zpravy, ale ostatni to delaji podobne :-(.

@harrysintonen I guess easy way to "program" atari 2600 is to insert RAM / ROM into the cartridge slot... and make your life easy. I guess best way would be to insert Pi Pico and then use 2600 for output only :-).

chmi.cz changed their webpage, and my old radar viewer / nowcaster no longer works. Apparently, https://www.rainviewer.com/ now has necessary data and uses common map format. Is there existing Linux application I should look at? I believe Gnome Weather used to have radar support, but it was dropped. Someone I could talk to?

I guess you should not try, because it may be out of spec for the devices, but old Nokia phones were designed for 5V charging, but were actually designed to survive 15V IIRC according to service manuals. I'd strongly suggest anything USB to survive 20V these days, and may guess is that a lot of hardware would actually survive.

But also, if you are making an USB device, please make it 20V tolerant. Polyfuse or something. [And I believe at least some manufacturers are doing that.]
