Just coming back from Hackaday Europe, where I showed my full RGB keyboard mod for the Supercon communicator badge. Custom front PCB with side emitting addressable LEDs and a custom resin-printed keyboard. Project write-up at hackaday.io, there's also a video with more details: https://hackaday.io/project/205750-communicator-badge-full-rgb-keyboard?mc_cid=c100339f64&mc_eid=d5c71569fd

Thanks everyone for the great feedback, it was an amazing event!

Replying to
@wizard@leds.social some pictures from the build process, even though it looks like ribbon cable, it is poly rattan

Replying to
@alpenglow@mstdn.social uuuuuuh. Just thinking about a huge "soft-tip" dartboard made out of these stereo jacks. Maybe using XLR mics with plugged in XLR-stereo adapters as darts? 🤔😉

Replying to
@stellth@universeodon.com @wizard@leds.social Thank you! I've just worn the hat at a concert. Running audio reactive patterns. It was a blast. But unfortunately I wasn't able to take photos. So I will try to take some next time.

Replying to
@wizard@leds.social as always, it wouldn't look half as good without the Pixelblaze! Especially the sensor board rocks for this project!

Replying to
@theunixman@kolektiva.social @wizard@leds.social I would say not too much! Because of the high density you can run the LEDs with relatively low brightness. So 5W max in a non-sunny environment. It runs out of a small USB power bank mount under the top of the hat.
