I dusted off and plugged in my seven year old Sisyphus mini sand table and it still works!

Perlin noise flow field pattern. Particles follow a Perlin noise flow field that slowly evolves over time. The flow field has a strong upward bias. Each particle leaves a fading trail drawn from the currently selected color palette. Particles respawn at the bottom when they drift off-screen or age out.

You want to know an actively developed marketplace for makers that hasn't been down for a week for unannounced yet "scheduled" maintenance? One that supports payment via Stripe instead of PayPal? That supports VAT / import duty handling? That doesn't throw '504 Gateway Timeout' errors every time you go to update stock, etc, etc?

@rasterweb we have an "old" washing machine that I have repaired numerous times. Each time we discuss getting a new one, but I know how to diagnose, disassemble, and repair this one. Replacement parts are still available. I have not heard good things about new ones.

This is two fifths of a Fibonacci1024 (slices 2 & 3): 410 WS2812 RGB LEDs, matte black LED acrylic diffuser and wall mounting back plate, 476x303mm (18.7x11.9in), audio-reactive, driven with #Pixelblaze. Let me know if you're interested.

I've tested this in Brave, and I think this works in all Chromium browsers (Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave, Vivaldi, etc) as if you needed another reason to switch to one of the few non Chromium browsers: Waterfox, Firefox, Safari, etc. Firefox explicitly "prevents websites from fingerprinting a browser by examining the extensions it has installed": https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/WebExtensions/manifest.json/web_accessible_resources#using_web_accessible_resources

I realize that I skipped a step. If, instead of pixels being only off or on, you use a wave function for brightness (value) where the period of the wave is each pixels' radius, you get a much smoother pattern. The #Pixelblaze code is short and relatively simple: https://gist.github.com/jasoncoon/dbda5f390872cec21ec2ba875ff5b14f Get your own Fibonacci256 here: https://lectronz.com/products/fibonacci256-hdr-166mm

If you increment N in small fractional steps instead of integers, you get a smooth transition between the spiral patterns. https://lectronz.com/products/fibonacci256-hdr-166mm

Now if you take all of that, use a pattern (ColorWaves) by an LED guru like Mark Kriegsman, port it to #Pixelblaze with the help of @wizard, use long slow smooth wave functions for hue, saturation and value, and use color palettes instead of just always shouting rainbows, you get a pattern that slowly shifts and ~never repeats. https://lectronz.com/products/fibonacci256-hdr-166mm

If you increment the starting LED, instead of always starting in the center at LED 0, the spirals are rotated and appear to spin. Here I'm manually changing the increment between lit LEDs. https://lectronz.com/products/fibonacci256-hdr-166mm

@kbob@chaos.social each frame the polyhedron's projected edges are walked in steps, injecting dye (hue-shifted by depth) and velocity splats into a 32x32 fluid grid. The velocity comes from the difference between current and previous frame vertex positions, so the polyhedron's rotation naturally drives the fluid motion. Edges sweeping across the grid leave colored trails that swirl and dissipate.

Something I find really neat about the pattern in the previous post: if you watch any individual pixel, aside from it changing colors it just smoothly blinks off and on at the same rate the entire time. The further the pixel is from the center the faster it blinks. It's a similar "incremental drift" mechanic as a pendulum wave:

I'm selling my Flux Beamo 30W CO2 laser cutter, rotary, autofocus, and diode laser addons, 4" inline exhaust fan & vent ducts. Asking $1,400, local (Kansas City) pickup. Used but in excellent working condition. Paid $2,800 total originally. I've bought a larger one. I'd love to keep this one as well, but just don't have space for it. Works completely offline via USB and/or local via wi-fi. No internet required. https://kansascity.craigslist.org/tls/d/overland-park-flux-beamo-30w-co2-laser/7895757294.html

Interesting, I had no idea the Dummy13 creator is being targeted by an illegitimate patent troll. Also Prusa is releasing hardware CAD files and the new Open Community License:
