@Voline@kolektiva.social but isn't the twist that its the electric bike, which is making cycling way more accessible for people? for our next trick, maybe if bikes are changing transportation we can make the roads a bit smaller for them?

@toriver@mas.to @ErikJonker@mastodon.social @tante@tldr.nettime.org and practically speaking, how do you tell the difference between human guided AI committed vs non-human guided AI committed code? i'm just wondering from a practical perspective how this policy will work

@tante@tldr.nettime.org I have this weird cycle where I keep trying AI for coding, it keeps disappointing me, the boosters keep telling me "no, this time its better". but i just can't find these promised productivity gains, except in very boring routing things. its like the only thing that matters now is speed and craft and quality are completely meaningless ideas.

@assaf@mas.to heh well, fwiw I’m reading Little Bosses Everywhere on @pluralistic@mamot.fr recommendation. Great read but disturbing and cult triggering.

So, the reality of using Claude Code is you're more willing to accept whatever. You don't really go back and make sure everything is perfect, you're inclined to shrug and move on.

@flux@mastodon.unwi.re @cryptohagen@social.data.coop Yeah, that's an interesting wrinkle for sure. Really, apple should also stick a delete query on deleting apps to clean up notifications too, that'd be nice of them. And ofc, if you're really deep into opsec turn off the notifications like you said. Also turn off read notifications if you're truly paranoid.

It seems that if you're going to fire at an agent in the Matrix, you'd ideally want to aim at their crotch. Maybe they have some countermeasure against it, but I'm pretty sure their crotch is constant.

Bad Dye Job

It might have made some sense to bring someone from the fashion/brand world to lead software design for Apple Watch, but it sure didn’t seem to make sense for the rest of Apple’s platforms. And the decade of Dye’s HI leadership has proven it.

Historic Chat Control Vote in the EU Parliament: MEPs Vote to End Untargeted Mass Scanning of Private Chats

In a sensational turn of events in the fight against Chat Control, a majority in the European Parliament voted today to end the untargeted mass scanning of private communications. In doing so, the Parliament firmly rejected the error-prone and unconstitutional surveillance practices of recent years.

@outofcontrol@phpc.social @jwildeboer@social.wildeboer.net what I don't understand about the codeberg policy is if its about copyright uncertainty, what is the rationale for "mostly" vibecoded being bad? wouldn't copyright uncertainty mean any project is tainted if it included LLM-generated code? or does it not work that way?

@cairobraga@gts.cairobraga.com @AVincentInSpace@furry.engineer @pluralistic@mamot.fr you're right to call me out, and for the most part, this is an unfair comparison. I was reacting specifically to "classify a technology that relies on scraping the works of thousands of creative workers" as the Internet Archive does scrape many websites and scan many books. And similarly to LLM makers, they have both received objections from copyright holders. That was really the point of comparison I was making, the rest of @AVincentInSpace@furry.engineer's points are good objections.
