@splitbrain@fedi.splitbrain.org isn’t the problem here more that some people treat the fediverse like Google? What kind of questions are appropriate for fediverse that can’t be googled?

Cards Against Humanity made this one as a joke prior to Trump's first term... sad that it may be more useful than a joke soon.

@chris@mstdn.chrisalemany.ca @_L1vY_@mstdn.social it’s a bit unrealistic for a Canadian prime minister to react any other way. While Carney is probably the best Conservative prime minister since Diefenbaker, he isn’t going to needlessly get on Trump’s bad side.

@joshbuddy@sfba.social @cryptohagen@social.data.coop yes in this case the app is deleted (the database on signal is encrypted anyways, even if it was installed) - the interesting part is that if you have notifications turned on, with the full message, apple stores the messages in the notifications database and so can get full access to your incoming messages that way. :) solution: turn notifications to name only or no information at all "You've got a Signal message" only.

The Iran-linked MuddyWater crew ran a four-continent espionage campaign mostly using... legit software. Signed binaries, DLL side-loading, Node.js instead of PowerShell, data exfiltrated through a normal file-sharing site. If you're not watching behaviour, you're watching the wrong layer. https://www.itsecurityguru.org/2026/07/01/iran-linked-muddywater-espionage-campaign-targets-organisations-across-four-continents/
