@newbyte@mastodon.nu I would say they can have uses. It allows you to repurpose old devices. E.g. running little services on the network (even if just for testing). However their usefulness is certainly very limited. I don't think they are very fit to use the device as an actual phone.

@pojntfx that is interesting indeed. Are you using wechat through waydroid?

@jhpot tasks.org and niri

@James@woof.group @TheBulletin@social.techreclaimers.club and @cyberlyra@hachyderm.io have some great resources on it. Good starting points: https://www.techreclaimers.club/resources.html#started https://www.optoutproject.net/the-cyber-cleanse-take-back-your-digital-footprint/ Although these might be too radical for what you are looking for.

@trogluur@social.linux.pizza Breezy Weather werkt prima voor mij. https://f-droid.org/packages/org.breezyweather/

@duxsco@fedifreu.de haven't tried it myself but on Plexus it has a good rating. https://plexus.techlore.tech/apps?q=intune%2Bcompany%2Bportal

@unchartedworlds@scicomm.xyz @Maker_of_Things@cupoftea.social I believe @graham.dunning has done this sort of thing before.

@LineageOS wow every year you are earlier. Also, lineage on mainline is huge! Great work folks!

@systeemkabouter@exquisite.social did you relock the bootloader? What kind of error does it give if you try to flash now? Also bit confused by you saying it's unsupported? eOS website lists it as supported: https://doc.e.foundation/devices/akita

@cfultz I expect that you will be able to sideload as usual on Lineage and other custom Androids. However it will still be a big blow to the ecosystem since app developers won't want to cut out stock Androids which represent the vast majority.

@cfultz yeah bigtech being anti consumer as usual. But on the plus side there are many very smart people working on efforts to bring us truly free OS' on mobile devices, like @postmarketOS. But it will probably be quite a while still until these are mainstream-ready, if ever.

@Cdespinosa @sopjes probably done via self scan

@Cdespinosa @sopjes you determine the order then no?

@masukomi@connectified.com @matt@toot.cafe I would also be interested in the full version, if you can find it.

@veronica@explains.social do you get a bigger cut from Liberapay than Kofi? Might switch then since I don't use the matrix anyway. :)

@systeemkabouter@exquisite.social ah I see. Can you still get into fastboot?

@graves501@fosstodon.org @moonglum@yakshed.social @postmarketOS@social.treehouse.systems some of them can also run postmarketOS. I just recently got a Clara HD and put pmOS on it. Runs fine so far (with a lightweight DE/WM), only the UI is not optimized for eInk by default.
