@faab64@todon.eu Women always worked but the expectation that they would also have to take on a "job" without actually getting paid for housework and still suffering the household labour imbalance is a scam! I say that as a working-class man that unconsciously benefitted from the unpaid household labour of women who all had jobs outside the house, throughout my childhood and early adulthood. Division of labour is still totally exploitative & leads to bad household dynamics - feminsim befits everyone.

I suspect most of us that do creative work or even just like to make things are like that regardless of what media we express ourselves in. I will be showing these in my typography class where we are looking at integrating hand lettering and typefaces.
Coincidentally, typography and lettering are two areas of graphic design that AI is really, really bad at. The past becomes the future.

In Quebec there are actual published price indexes for a lot of consumer goods. I think beer is a good point of reference.

So that's 18.77%. I can tell you for free, my salary didn't go up that much.
That said, as each year's price increase is calculated on top of the previous year's price increase (compound interest), you can't simply divide the difference by 6 and say "it went up X per year".

I removed everything except abcdefg from the entire text of Hamlet, left the spaces, & converted the text to midi. The instruments are an arpeggiator, & a 4/4 drumloop. The spaces are the bass notes.
The video is archival footage & the 1948 film, stretched to the length of the music.

@sue I had a student submit a js dropdown that didn't work, and I saw why... she didn't though, and admitted to using chatgpt. I took this as a learning oppoortunity and now that whole cohort thinks that you can't use AI if you don't already know the right answer(and they are correct).

@ryan I do, mostly because of their stock price after announcing this bold new agentic horseshit. It rallied a bit after the Adobe summit but then went even lower than before the announcement.
Stock prices aside, core Adobe users don't want or need AI. We have been happy with the procedural and generative things it could do ... that weren't AI per se, despite Adobe's marketing.
Their real probelm is the onerous subscription model. It looks great for investors but many users can't afford it.

@mustapipa@scicomm.xyz I'm seeing this in areas where quick analysis of anomalous things is important. Yeah AI can sort-match super fast but as a human you need to develop that skill too and you never will if you let AI every time. I tell my students it's like calculators - they are very useful but you still need to be able to do quick math in your head and know your times tables at a glance or you waste time looking stuff up constantly.
