This weekend I finally had some time to get my TrueNAS server up and running with Immich on it.
Now my photos are replicated across two devices and the only thing I need now is the remote backup, which it will be another TrueNAS server at the office.
Also, it's the first time I had the guts to delete all my photos from Google Photos.

@JessTheUnstill@infosec.exchange We used the steady cash flow from tech to pay early for our mortgage. Now we are less anxious about the future and the only real spending we have right now is private school tax for our kid.
It's not fancy private school, but it's better then the state schools and we could switch to state school if it came to it (which is free)
We don't have the need to buy fancy things because we value our financial stability more than any other thing we could buy.

I’m super excited to start moving out of Github and onto @codefloe@social.tchncs.de which is a managed Forgejo instance.
At the same time, I have started building with their Forgejo actions and FluxCD, so my gitops journey has begun.

@mintydev@mastodon.social This reminds me that it's best to learn things on an actual project with actual requirements because those requirements will guide you towards what you need to learn instead of wandering of and learning random stuff.
So, it was frustrating because you were learning a lot. That takes effort.

@jfro@social.lol I installed TrueNas on my qnap. I plugged in a spare usb ssd I had and installed the os on that.
The only issue I have sometimes is on restart when it sometimes boots back into qnap os
