Something I learned the hard way today: do not try eating a calzone with barbecue sauce.
Trust me, you will regret it.

for context, I got asked about the status of the postmarketOS device packages for the odroid n2+ and c4. I do still use postmarketOS on them, but I don't use sbcs in general much anymore, except for openwrt.
I think I should probably just repurpose those odroids as build servers for random linux arm stuff I do.

that being said, I do still have postmarketOS edge installed and ready to go on them, and it hasn't really been that long since I last used them
OH MY GOD THIS IS AMAZING

Content, in this context, includes but is not limited to source code, text, and images in OpenJDK Git repositories, GitHub pull requests, e-mail messages, wiki pages, and JBS issues.

This is also Yet Another reason why LLM code is bad. It's a lifeless blend of everything, not something with a coherent story and certainly not something that really reflects the passion of any one author.

I should note: unless I did the math wrong (which is possible!), a 10 minute song in 32-bit 48khz is still less than 256mb of RAM, which is perfectly fine for the target hardware in this case.

Also, loading it all into a buffer would help with smooth and seamless playback.
It's a tradeoff, I guess.
I see a lot of people posting about NixOS recently... and... well...
Yes, declarative computing is cool, but please keep in mind that NixOS is slopware.
I keep forgetting that I blocked github in my /etc/hosts
...but I think that block is probably a good thing, so I don't intend to remove it

Dear Linus Tech Tips,
As someone who actually lives in northern Virginia, fuck you.

@stux@mstdn.social Unfortunately, Mastodon itself does allow LLM code, so not ideal...
(and even if it didn't, it's Rails + Vite + React, which is Very slop nowadays)

@joew @blainsmith I think the best way to put it is that code (at least when complex enough) tells a story and really shows the ideas the author(s) had in mind. It may _appear_ entirely functional on the surface, but there is deeper meaning that gets often overlooked.

@mullvadnet@mastodon.online while (for now?) only specific states are pushing for that sort of surveillance, I think a us version of that ad campaign would be awesome

@mullvadnet@mastodon.online I watched all of those ads today and like... whoa
the production quality is REALLY good, and it does a great job of showing the problems with mass surveillance.

@codecat It's also really cool to me how both of us started doing this at around the same time afaict (although I think I was like a week or two before fire)
I definitely want to try fire now, although I still think Reverb is worth maintaining

@codecat this looks really cool!
I guess I wasn't the only one with the idea of making a simple and slop-free reimplementation of a popular go web framework, although in my case I chose Echo to reimplement.

@mrmasterkeyboard imo raylib has been a really reasonable project and raysan5 has been awesome - the raylib community has clearly spoken, and my hope is that eventually the previous stance gets reconsidered
Replying to
@mrmasterkeyboard this is also a fundamental problem with fediblock culture. servers have real users that should be treated as important social connections, not just numbers - and, as such, the number one question to ask before blocking a server is: what is the _social_ impact?
overaggressive and inconsiderate server blocking is one of the main things turning people away from the fediverse, and this problematic culture needs to stop
Replying to
@codecat While not really intended as a drop in replacement for anything specific (although inspired by Next.js, Hugo, and similar) I also made a more high level SSR/SSG framework: https://codeberg.org/hexaheximal/morph
I think I might add a Fire backend to it (on top of the existing Reverb one) at some point. I would definitely love to see a community of interoperable slop-free web tools/libraries :)

If there are LLM agent files, you sure as hell can't trust the project to not commit LLM code. It may not be entirely made with LLMs, but that doesn't change the fact that they took the stance of riding the hype train and therefore cannot be trusted to get off it.

@blainsmith@fosstodon.org what I love the most about go is definitely the simplicity and boringness. it doesn't care about whatever the latest hype is, it just gets the job done and does it well

@domi While it would be pretty cool if it was, I doubt it. That looks like a Microsoft Surface, especially with the pen design.

@dtauvdiodr@c.im If it makes su a broken executable, that means it did succeed and the system is vulnerable. The code injected wasn't made for an ARM CPU though, so it won't actually run as-is.

@pfefferle@mastodon.social @strypey@mastodon.nzoss.nz @xarvos@outerheaven.club @FediTips@social.growyourown.services And also, even if we ignore everything else: Doing so is still enabling the large-scale exploitation being done by AI companies.
As I've said before: it is outright hypocritical to let the AI companies take your code (especially if it's copyleft!) and then happily use their models without thinking about the implications.
why does the your ai slop bores me theme sound like a combination of papa's burgeria and devil's attorney
