I found no joy in gardening this year, so everything I sowed at the beginning has been left to fend for itself mostly. Nevertheless, today I harvested exactly five (5) of my open source cherry tomatoes, enough to save some seeds with the hope that I might feel differently next year. Despite the mistreatment (and lack of sunshine), they were surprisingly sweet.

He has figured out how to drink with the recovery doughnut on without completely soaking himself and everything around him. 😭 :flan_cheer: Just a couple of more days and then he can be rid of it. (We had a bit of a setback mid-week because he, it turns out, is a stealthy menace, but we handled it and things are back on track and looking good.)

He's actually a sweetheart, you just can't tell from the cold stare in this picture. :blobcatgiggle:

@inherentlee In the classic classifieds you have both seekers and providers, so it makes sense that way. Needs an easy way for the poster to delete a request once it has been filled or is no longer needed though? :blobcatthink: Or some kind of automatic system to delete after x amount of time.

@krummi Just i ögonblicket var jag nog mest fokuserad på att hänga med i samtalet och avgöra om personen alls hade förstått vad jag ville (som jag minns det blev jag dock kopplad till rummet och fick prata med pappa, så min franska var nog någorlunda begriplig 😅). Så jo, språkbytet blev ett störningsmoment, även om engelska i sig var lättare för mig att förstå. Det var så många stressfaktorer samtidigt: telefonsamtal(!) med okänd person(!) utomlands(!) på mitt fjärdespråk(!). Att då dessutom byta språk (om än till något jag behärskade bättre) plus extra ångest över att ev ha gjort fel/förolämpat/misslyckats gjorde inte situationen enklare. Och jag minns ju det hela fortfarande, nästan 30 år senare, så jag nojar nog fortfarande lite … >.>

@krummi @kamrathobbit Jo, det har väl varit ett rätt återkommande klagomål, att svenskar har för låg tolerans för tragglande utan alla bara byter till engelska istället. Så det gäller verkligen att pejla av situationen, och som du säger ha tålamod! Jag minns hur dumförklarad jag kände mig när jag behövde söka mina föräldrar på hotell i Paris och hade övat på bästa skolfranska vad jag skulle säga ("God dag, jag heter… skulle jag kunna få tala med...", rumsnummer, s'îl vous plaît) och när jag hade fått ur mig alltihop svarade receptionspersonalen på engelska. :blobcatmelt:
