sticker ninjas website is closed for orders sundays which i find quite charming, it's so they don't come in monday to a total deluge of orders, and i respect that
i'm gonna close the artist waitlist soon, there's 6 people on it which is probably more than we'd need. in previous years we've had at most 5 dropouts and some of those are people who didn't send things in but never alerted me to that, so they couldn't have pulled from the waitlist anyway

i think it was a female writer? it was not timnit gebru. it was fairly recent, last 6ish months i would say. it was not an academic paper but rather more of a lengthy blog post

But they tie into the culture because mainline Mastodon devs have seemed pretty hostile to this stuff....so hearing that it's going well for you is really awesome!

WOW!
- I love the skip to content/skip to navigation options. Sorely lacking.
- Keyboard focus in general is looking loads better. Super excited.
Small nits...
- Tabbing from the full post highlight to whatever is next (can be either the poster name/username, or the booster name) isn't announced for me. Going to try with NVDA instead of ORCA later. Oddly, tabbing *backward* to that field is announced. Not sure if that was intentional? Or maybe it's a weird issue with ORCA.
- Age of posts is announced with things like "d" instead of "day(s)". Would be a cool improvement IMO. But defer to Robert on this one, maybe it's a common enough thing that it's comprehensible.
- In right hand bar (full width screen, desktop), my tab focus is landing on something in between the Masto logo and the Home button. Inspector indicates it's a list item with a "New post" link...the link has display: none, but for some reason it seems to be the actual that gets focus - no idea why on cursory inspection. No SR output on it either so IDK what is happening with that lil guy.

But I wrote up a bunch of hometown issues a while back that likely apply. Maybe I make that mastodon.social account...

@diondiondion@indieweb.social I think with some programmatic aria-label-ing you could manage the datetime stuff. If you point me at some relevant code I can take a stab, but I'm not super familiar with the masto codebase offhand and I know it's rather chunky.
