we watched the Barbie movie a couple weeks ago. My daughter enjoyed it; my son had a life changing experience. He recognized himself. He sings “I’m just Ken” at all times. He claims to have only one brain cell. “You don’t have to worry about my mental health, because I don’t have any!” He says “my job is just Toby.” Occasionally he throws his head back and yells “Sublime!” This movie may have been written for girl power, but it is doing a lot for the next generation of himbos.

I just finished re-reading Winterkeep and really, truly, Kristin Cashore just keeps getting better at writing books. I have maintained for a decade that the Graceling trilogy (or at very least, Bitterblue) is a must read, but god damn, Winterkeep is a REALLY must read.
