My backyard #chickens L O V E D bsf larvae. When I turned my compost pile the birds would get so close they were in danger of getting raked...

"When Fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross"
SUCH a shitshow. And people wonder why people don't like cops.
"hypocritical Baptists*" reminds me of the Department of Redundancy Department.
Joke I heard in Texas:
Q. how do you keep a baptist from drinking all your beer while fishing?
A. bring TWO baptists

* Not really picking on Baptists here. Insert any evangelical in that space.
I doubt there are many handloaders on Mastodon, but just in case: folks frustrated with the attempt to revive #GRT after Gordon's unfortunate passing might find the Ballistics Swiss Knife useful. It has already replaced GRT in my use case.
I feed published load data from #Hodgdon, #Lyman, #Lee, #Hornady, etc, to BSK. If the estimated pressures and FPS line up I modify the load with my specific barrel lengths, projectiles, and charge weights. Make a ladder and chrono.
Disclosure: I have no connection to the project other than as a user.

Q. How did you [wreck the Republic]?
A. Two ways,” [the citizens] said. “Gradually and then suddenly.”
Watched two films worth recommending recently:
-
Redux Redux - low budget sci-fi/revenge story. The main actor is the sister of the directors but I can't imagine a better pick for the lead. She carries the film.
-
Project Hail Mary - funnier, more emotional, and more buddymovie than I would have thought, perhaps manipulatively so. But it was a fun watch and I'm generally not a fan of popcorn movies.

@Tarnport@mastodon.green When I moved into a campervan in 2018 one of the few things I missed was my chooks... :-(
My kindles have been no-contact with Amazon for y e a r s. Sideloading > amazon mothership.
During my hiring interview for TxDOT in 2011 I proposed this kind of solution to ID road problems proactively. I don't remember if they laughed out loud but the idea was not well received.
Was it from "Two Corinthians"?
The FCC’s WiFi router ban is “an extremely blunt instrument, and it’s going to impact many harmless products in order to stem a real problem,” EFF’s @legind@mastodon.social told CNET. https://www.cnet.com/home/internet/fcc-bans-foreign-made-routers-as-national-security-risk/
I love this kind of racing. These guys are lunatics in the best possible way. Mad respect for keeping the old machinery in working order.

shades of:

* the complicity of marks in the con: _the Big Con_ by Maurer
* MAGA as kayfabe, the luring of the previously-disengaged pro wrestling audience into right wing politics. A kind of modern Southern Strategy but for the gullible mouthbreathers rather than habitual racists (not that they can't intersect)

Enemies (big, strong enemies with tears in their eyes) come up to him and say "Trump, you are so strong I just can't resist you". When you're a bully they let you do anything.
French "stock car" racing is CHAOS and I'm here for it. I once saw a race where within the first (comically short) lap one car was upside down on top of another, and the squished car was still piloting around the track with the other car on it. I've never seen racing where the roll cage was so immediately and frequently in use.
