@luithe@varishangout.net @GreatFediPosts@tsundere.love Not sure if it explains it for everyone, but it could just be the taste. Despite what marketers and advertisers would have you believe, diet and regular sodas do taste different. Even diet and the newer zero sugar versions taste different.

@scuti@stereophonic.space I usually just use NOAA's site, it's where most others get their info from anyhow. Still shows F and C, no A(I)DS. Only works for US, of course, though. (Not sure what I'm going to use when I go to Europe later this year.)

@DireGoy@poa.st If I was being charitable, I'd say it's because most people do drive-through, delivery service, or order on the app and pick up and self-serve fountains are seen as a bothersome extra step. Perhaps not worth it for the restaurant to have a second fountain in the dining room when they already have the one behind the counter.
If I was being charitable.

@deprecated_ii@poa.st It can spark curiosity and desire to learn more, but probably only in some kids.
Scientific calculators made me curious what all the different buttons meant and did. When I got a graphing calculator, I started writing my own (very!) simple programs. I even got into a debate with my teacher once about -1² vs. (-1)² But I was a weird kid.

@newt@stereophonic.space My sister always complained about me walking too fast. Maybe she told all the girls about it and that's why I couldn't get a date.
But I don't walk fast anymore. See, short ladies, go date a borderline cripple!

@Flanker@decayable.ink Even when department stores were more common, did they even carry that many Legos? I don't remember Sears / Montgomery Ward having lots of Legos. Usually had to go to Toys R Us or Walmart/K-Mart/Shopko for them.

@augustus@shitposter.world We should immediately switch to counting from Christ's death and resurrection as opposed to His birth so that we can all go back to 1993.

Listen, I hate these fucks as much as the next person. But I'm also tired of hearing this from boomers whose lives revolve around worshipping overpaid niggers who run around throwing a ball around playing literal children's games.
