that's good to hear, I doubt it was your fault though
I've heard the desktop Ubuntu experience has sort of been downhill for a while now...
I still run the server version on VPSs though and it's been pretty good at just staying out of the way

if by heft you mean: huge tests, being way too careful to almost a neurotic degree, non-optimal but working solutions by only loading local code-context into it's inference-context
yeah I get it, I just don't look most of the time these days. There was something that cropped up again in one of my bits of demonic machinery today that I should probably fix, but what's 2 more seconds, it's probably checking an API to make sure everything is reconciled

a few things, but since the banked reset was expiring today I focused on mostly using Astra to review a bunch of local model stuff* for this agent project: >>674362803
*ranking local model's understanding of conversations, rating replies, doing LoRA training for voice adapters on different models. Was using Qwen yesterday for the big brain, but decided to give Gemma and Mistral a shot today. Really just focused a high token burn task between other stuff so I can min-max usage/resets, now I have to change gears again: weekend is over

Quoting
the flow chart for the locally run flatboard agent setup
JEFF = https://github.com/firelex/jeff (stock Jeff-Qwen3.5-0.8B v1.2, no custom training or adapter)
to do Jeff training I need to label a bunch of stuff, maybe I could crowd source that

yeah, it's sort of a pain to use the RESET pin as a GPIO, need to lift a pin to ~12v during programming for that

Sounds like modern science has got it figured out pretty good. Just hope it's not like they had x-rays and radiation figured out back in the good old days.
Yeah I was messing around a bit with the last line, but there was a quick inversion with the "project lightspeed" or warp whatever, so I can understand if you skip a few days, Trump never said anything to get his supporters to reject the vaccine afaik, so it wasn't lemming behavior originating the the white house.
A similar quick inversion happened with masks, not sure if you can recognize that one or if it was just always "right wing: no mask, left wing: mask up" for your memory

I was immediately pretty terrible at my CompUSA job
The onboarding HR training stuff was so annoying I colluded with the other new hires tasked with finishing it to just go really slow and punish the company by making them pay for us just goofing off.
Manager guy got suspicious and asked why it was taking so long, and we're like "We're trying to do a good job! This seems really important lol" and so it began...

I was going to bed, but ran into this model released by some German lab out of nowhere
https://huggingface.co/Aleph-Alpha/Kolibri-1
with quants that will run locally (24gb vram in my case),
trying this one first:

>the transistor was used to turn off the hall effect sensor + opamp stuff from firmware, on/off "switch" is on PB0
that's why there's GNDA for the front end stuff, a tiny screwdriver shorts pads on the PCB pulling PB0 to 0 and then the firmware turns the transistor so GNDA is disconnected from the battery

well, maybe you want a low pass filter between it and the ADC, but that could also be done in code

I think we actually caused CompUSA to go out of business, and then Radioshack after that.
I could get a job in the corporate espionage space as a saboteur

sorry for the blast of replies lol, but hall effect sensor stuff is giving me flashbacks to when I was trying to use one -> ADC on an ATTiny10 (because the digital ones were expensive...) and I was doing some crazy opamp pre-conditioning so the ADC would see 0-Vcc for field strength instead
pretty sure it's this one, because I was just going for the cheapest and that's why it was worth it to add an opamp and all the passives: still cheaper than a digital one: https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/honeywell-sensing-and-productivity-solutions/SS39ET/2839676
.... all for a demon core toy that I never made more than 1 of in the end

learned that flies interfere with the receiver, I thought I was just hearing them trying to get into my headphones for a while.
I didn't hear any obvious whistlers but I'm re-listening amplified and EQ'd now

I wouldn't even put it on the board myself tbqh, reason I have it there is because I was getting the magnet strength to be ~exactly 0-Vcc so there was enough 'resolution' to do PWM dimming on the LEDs, but maybe it would be useful for getting better resolution in ur case too

actually wrote an essay about how "love" is the root of all evil back in my college days after the professor said to write about how "love of money" is the root of all evil
I was on the right path, but I don't think I was able to differentiate divine love from the temporal/material type of love back then. I know I gave examples, like the love of Helen of Troy causing war, and counter examples where the 'love' of money produced global wealth
got a C on that essay

found it, the values for the resistors were brute forced for what I needed, but honestly I think you could go without the opamp stuff, you just need to detect change so could probably get away with going straight into the ADC without the fanfare: https://chatgpt.com/share/6ac42244-7db4-83e8-b655-f67d46db6d1b check the code part out
>>615161209
those are the best, keep in mind this was designed around the ~3v coming out of a CR2032, the transistor was used to turn off the hall effect sensor + opamp stuff from firmware, on/off "switch" is on PB0
