It took me five years to read Moby's Dick. It did it for fun. It's so amazingly boring that I would pick it up between other books I had finished. Slowly, chapter at a time ... and the chapters ..
There is a chapter dedicated to if a whale is a fish or not (the designation of mammal didn't exist at this time), chapters dedicated to stupid pub stories, a chapter dedicated to the poor bastard who was sent into the whale through the blowhole to clean it out and pull the useful material, a chapter dedicated to the whales hanging off the side of the ship attracting sharks as they were queuing for a port ...
The main character/narrator Ishmael is barely mentioned after the initial chapters. The author is more obsessed with whales than Captain Ahab. It's not a book anyone should bother reading unless they really want to learn about 1800s whaling culture.
I doubt your teacher, or really anyone, bothered to read the damn book.

I wonder what people even use these things for anyway. Few of the local models are all that great, and most image/video generation doesn't need that much vram and is cheaper to generate on regular video cards.

It peaked around book three: A Solitary Blue. We were forced to read that in high school and it's the third book and is missing a lot of context without reading the first two. I kept going but the rest of the books were really bad. I finished the final one earlier this year and it was a huge letdown.
I also finished reading all the Dune books last year. Everyone told me 5&6 were not that great, but I wanted to read them anyway for completeness. I'm glad I got through them, but they're really not good. The entire series gets a little jarring after the first book because Herbert's characters are not really human. They all think and act on these deeply complex and super human political levels, so they become less and less relatable as you keep reading. I only read the 6 main books. I doubt I'll ever read all the ones by other authors.

Not really. I had to replace my AC a few years back. The one installed was probably from when the house was built, and none of the parts for it were made anymore.
This York was ~$10k including installation and everything, and I still eventually got that upper window unit to cool my homelab.

But I never see the shit you post in real life. I live in the deep south. Half my neighbors are black, and although some neighborhood meetings can be cringe, they're all generally good people. The parents can block traffic (buy software or routers) with ease. Some might say, "well they'll just get around it." So? The parent can make their moral stance clear. They might even say, "I look at porn sometimes too, but I feel guilty because I know it's wrong," if they want to be honest.
That can instill the value, even if society can't really stop proliferation. The kid knows why their parents believe whatever and can choose to act on it or ignore it.
If the parent doesn't care .. then whatever. The kid can hold that value, or go all trad and reject it for themselves. Maybe it doesn't matter and the kid grows up fine? Maybe the grow up to live in a goon cave? Who knows?
That's why the age verification stuff is so BS. It's a backdoor to individual digital identities, under the guise of the anti-porns wanting to mandate their ideology on all the "don't cares" because "Reee! No, people are hurting their kids if they don't block their access; so we should block everyone's!"

Like I said, that's a different issue. If they are pushing out qualified Canadians and don't have the skills, then yes, they're being brought over to race bait your and create a pressure cooker of anger. You getting angry at some people who went through a process and took a job (maybe they weren't qualified for it; once again .. different issue) and then screaming your ass off at some behaviors you see on tiktok you associate to an entire race is exactly what those people in the government want you to do.
It looks bad on me too man. I get it. My dad worked his ass off, got his EE degree, got a visa and worked nuclear for over 25 years! But he was qualified.
