I'm kind of surprised to find that there doesn't appear to be an #Emacs package that provides a handy mode for editing #gophermap files. Like, sure, they're not *that* tricky, but it seems like it could be (or could once have been) a handy mode.
Right. gopher://-handling in place. Now to draw the rest of the fucking owl.
New version of #Rogallo, which seeks to improve the way that a capsule's certificate is validated.

Thinking about trying to speed up #BlogMore a wee bit: https://blog.davep.org/2026/05/11/speeding-up-blogmore.html
#Rogallo v1.2.0 is now available. The main change in this release is initial work on supporting the #Gopher protocol.

#BlogMore v2.21.0 is now available. This adds a lint command that is used to check your blog content for various issues.
Cleaned up wordcloud.el, a little #Emacs package that turns a buffer into a word cloud, of sorts: https://blog.davep.org/2026/04/14/wordcloud-el-v1-4.html
My shiny new MacBook Air is pretty awesome. Did some setting up this evening. Utterly failing to get my Emacs environment to run up though. Something odd with git-gutter/git-gutter-fringe. Also had tons of stuff barf over cond-let. Weird ‘cos on the other 3 Macs I regularly use all is fine (albeit I’ve not rebuilt from scratch in a while).
Experimenting with how you build an MCP server, by building a server for Norton Guide files (of course!). So far it's going... surprisingly well. Now I can ask questions about CA-Clipper programming and get really slow answers.
When you decide to dive into an otherwise AI-coded codebase, and you want to make by-hand changes, at least there are tests.
Right?

#BlogMore v2.12.0 is out, with a couple of improvements to the sitemap and the ability to index the stats page: https://blog.davep.org/2026/04/10/blogmore-v2-12-0.html
I've released #BlogMore v2.11.0, with this version adding more streak-based stats and a whole blog calendar/history view. Because why the hell not.
So @SuperMarielle@mas.to is questioning our relationship status after seeing me eat a Kiwi. Apparently I do it wrong. 😑

#BlogMore v2.13.0 is now available, with a couple of fixes related to clean URL use (discovered thanks to the Google Search Console). https://blog.davep.org/2026/04/11/blogmore-v2-13-0.html
I've released v1.2.0 of obs2nlm, a tool to turn an #Obsidian vault into a source for #NotebookLM. This release adds the ability to split a vault into multiple sources.
#Rogallo is updated to v1.3.0. This version adds Gopher type "badges" and an alias facility for the command line: https://blog.davep.org/2026/07/29/rogallo-v1-3-0.html

My son keeps trying to sell me on https://store.steampowered.com/app/3904850/Approximately_Up/ and I'm "eh, looks fun but nope don't need a building game ATM" and then I realised I could try and build Serenity and now I'm rethinking how I spend my evenings.
The new #BlogMore linter has helped already: https://blog.davep.org/2026/05/11/the-linter-helped-already.html

I've released the first version of NGMCP, an MCP server for reading and querying Norton Guide database files. https://blog.davep.org/2026/04/11/ngmcp-an-mcp-experiment.html
More tinking with an MCP server, and learning it's kinda clunky to develop and test one with #Copilot CLI: https://blog.davep.org/2026/04/12/global-and-local-mcp-servers-with-copilot-cli.html
Random thought: if the @fsf@hostux.social obsolete your contribution, I wonder if they'd be willing to sign copyright back over?

Having added finger support to #Rogallo, I guess it makes sense that I also look to adding Gopher support too.

I guess, if I'm going to run with #Gopher support in #Rogallo, I should have a wee site too: gopher://tilde.team/1/~davep/
Made a wee library to help with loading up Gopher server responses: https://blog.davep.org/2026/07/27/gophermap-a-simple-library-for-parsing-gopher-responses.html
