Hey, so about that #AI going to kill us all thing...while #agentic AI is mob of authorized crackers and should be stopped...it's what the war machines are doing with it that is the real concern. Have you seen #Palestine? That's what AI targeting looks like in the field. Nothing left standing. In January of this year, Pete Hegseth released a memo directing the United States to embed AI in every part of the “kill chain.” As it moves to comply, the Department of Defense is placing relatively few checks on what technology companies can or cannot do when the United States is waging war. “We’re in a situation where the companies are essentially regulating themselves,” Guyer, of the Institute for Global Affairs, said. @selfcare@hachyderm.io I am sick of AI tooling, and the requirement to use them. My company has enterprise #claude and #n8n licenses, and we are expected to use them for at least 50% of our work. I get #tokens, but all I can bring myself to do with it is to ask if this lib or that lib will work for my python apps, and write them myself. Maybe, I occasionally ask AI if the code Ive written is sane....but can I really trust #agentic AI to tell me if my code works or not? Who the fuck knows.

Literally overheard in another meeting: "I realize that I am sitting in meetings with developers who are literally prompting claude to write code, and just copypasta that code into the PRs. And I realize to myself. Am I getting more stupid for doing this? Why are we doing this? Why have we been directed to do this? Is Open Source licensing meaningful anymore, or are we just left with public domain? What are the legal distinctions between GPL, Apache, and MIT when AI companies and LLMs ignore the LICENSE file of your project?
