Основные отличия в том, что: у чатмейл релеев нет никакой фильтрации спама, кроме форсирования E2E-шифрования (а зашифрованный спам никто слать не будет) и проверки подписей DKIM;сообщения автоматически удаляются с сервера через заданное администратором время (но вообще дельта сама удаляет после получения, если отключен мультидевайс), именно поэтому сервера называются релеями -- все сообщения хранятся на клиентах, сервер только как промежуточное хранилище;в набор софта включены iroh-релей и turn-сервер -- первый нужен для p2p-приложений в чатах, второй используется для звонков, если они не установлены на используемом почтовом сервере, то клиент переключается на стандартные официальные сервера, которые могут быть заблочены ркном (turn уже). @mrclon@mastodon.ml @drq@mastodon.ml @Xeniax@mastodon.ml @kurator88@mastodon.moscow @delta@chaos.social

Is there any point in encrypting a virtual server disk? When needed, a hosting provider can just take a RAM dump and extract the encryption key, or at least regexp-match interesting files from the page cache, right? Also, how much is the performance / resource usage overhead of a full-disk encryption? #askfedi #linux #encryption
