U.S. exempts oil industry from protecting Gulf animals, for 'national security'

"To be secure as a nation we need a steady, affordable supply of our own energy," Hegseth told the six members of the committee, nicknamed the God Squad for its ability to make life or death decisions about endangered animals. "This is not just about gas prices; it's about our ability to power our military and protect our nation."

More like 'Satan's Supporters'?

Iran rejects U.S. ceasefire offer, demands sovereignty over Strait of Hormuz

Here is Iran’s complete list of conditions, according to Press TV:

A complete halt to “aggression and assassinations” by the enemy.
The establishment of concrete mechanisms to ensure that the war is not reimposed on the Islamic Republic.
Guaranteed and clearly defined payment of war damages and reparations.
The conclusion of the war across all fronts and for all resistance groups involved throughout the region.
Iran’s exercise of sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz is and will remain Iran’s natural and legal right, and it constitutes a guarantee for the implementation of the other party’s commitments, and must be recognized.

Sounds fair...

Iran is not the 'good guys' and neither are we. The main difference is that we started it. Now we're stuck in the quagmire with no way out, thanks to Trump.

This is not a story about one journal being slow. This is a story about an entire portfolio going dark.

We checked every major Elsevier journal whose editorial scope covers the science of 3I/ATLAS.

Across all of Elsevier, two papers in ten months. Everyone else published thirty. Then someone from inside the publisher reached out to us. They had a lot to say.

Ohio’s Serpent Mound Still Fuels Debate, as Haunting Questions Remain About America’s Most Mysterious Earthwork

It is one of America’s most iconic and mysterious prehistoric earthen monuments, and at times, also one of its most hotly debated: Ohio’s famous Serpent Mound.

Located in Adams County, Ohio, the ancient site features a massive, undulating serpent whose coiled tail and gaping jaws have stood as an impressive monument to the Buckeye State’s ancient past, prompting serious investigations by archaeologists that have spanned nearly two centuries.

A Mysterious Signal Began Transmitting as the Iran War Erupted—Now Someone is Jamming It

In the early hours of the U.S.-Israel war with Iran, a mysterious shortwave radio signal began broadcasting from an unknown location.

The broadcasts feature a man speaking mostly in Persian, although with the occasional inclusion of English language words, as a series of random numbers are conveyed, followed by the word tavajjoh, meaning “attention,” spoken three times before each transmission ends.

An artifact of the Cold War, the short radio dispatches that began just twelve hours after the onset of the conflict in Iran represent what radio experts refer to as a numbers station—a form of shortwave radio transmissions that broadcast random number sequences with the likely purpose of conveying information to intelligence officers in foreign nations.
