the best thing about #permacomputing is that you can just not read your e-mails and call it praxis

I like tech when it's not used to automatically deny social welfare. When it's careful, helpful, maybe weird or surprising. Always antifascist.
Kudos if you interact with me before you follow me.
hi @johl@mastodon.xyz, i found the definition of #permacomputing really well put that you gave in https://blog.johl.io/permacomputing/:
> Permacomputing is a term that combines “perma” — as in permaculture — with “computing,” signaling an effort to rethink digital technology not as a disposable commodity but as a domain that can be part of sustainable, cyclical, and regenerative practices. Instead of equating technological progress with ever-increasing performance, bigger infrastructures, and rapid replacement cycles, permacomputing asks how digital systems can exist within ecological and planetary limits and still remain meaningful and functional.
I appreciate you publish your posts as cc0 and I think this can be a good description to succinctly introduce people to the concept. Thank you!
found a super nice #svg tutorial that interactively teaches you how to draw bezier curves https://www.nan.fyi/svg-paths/bezier-curves
Reminder that there'll be a #permacomputing meetup in Berlin next Sunday, 19.4 starting around 16:00. Come say hi, it's going to be fun!
this is the picture that pops up in my head whenever someone says "sovereign" unironically
i have some embedded devices, esp32's, and some smartphones running iOS or android. i want to set up a network between those devices and involve no servers if possible. they will be physically spread out. how do i do this without reinventing the wheel?
europeans love to be smug like "the metric system is so great" but then a minute has 60 seconds wtf

hi @ljudmila@tldr.nettime.org 👋 can you say if there's supposed to be a confirmation mail after applying for pifcamp, or do you know where i could ask? i have submitted the form earlier and now i'm wondering if i botched the e-mail address.
@johl@mastodon.xyz i didn't know about the history of lua that you talked about today, do you know where i could read more about that?
