My opinion is that in "capitalism" world/business the moni is the only understandable language (this is a very great simplification and generalisation). If someone wants to be a special client, they should pay it for that, then they can look at Excel spreadsheet and calculate what is their way - shouting "urgent", paying more, having problem fixed 5 minutes earlier or being quiet, paying less, having problem fixed without significant delay. "You could already have it done, if you would not spam me with reminders." - everyone's thought at some point. CC: @stefano@mastodon.bsd.cafe

Reminder: if bad guys get in your way, use mount_mfs command to bust them in RAM, then mv to /dev/null to wipe them out. #FreeBSD #OpenBSD #NetBSD #badjoke

Here it is. Asus Eee PC 1005HA running #NetBSD 10.1. Desktop looks awful and that's fine, I do not need "ricing". I have changed HDD to SSD and put new fan. RAM upgraded to 2 GB which is more than I need. Runs dillo and aerc. Cost? ~40 USD.

Okay, #NetBSD on main computo, attempt no 2. I was able to get 1920x1080 resolution thanks to wsfb and gop. I need to accept that fetchmail is not going to work, but I would like to ask for your help. (1) I am looking for GPU which will work out of box and give acceleration to web browser and tetris. I am going to review bsd-hardware.info and dmesgd.nycbug.org, but if someone is aware of good card I will happily take any advise. No new cards, no big power usage, HDMI. Currently I have RX550 (2) If anyone archives e-mails on own computo, could you share what software do you use for that?

OpenBSD has no wine, NetBSD's wine is an old version (5.0), so you should look at FreeBSD. Also only FreeBSD has drivers for new Nvidia cards CC: @underseamonkey@fosstodon.org

I was able to find fanless GT 710 in reasonable pricing, everything looks good, but there are 2 things which bother me: (1) When running glxgears I get: libGL error: failed to open drm device: Permission denied libGL error: failed to load driver: nouveau but runs correctly. Last time as I was playing around with amdgpu driver and drm devices, results were not great. Can I just skip those errors? (2) When I run Firefox with hardware acceleration buttons and search bar do not have rounded corners. Of course it is minor cosmetic thing, but I am wondering if it is a matter of window manager (I use CTWM, btw) or GPU driver? @netbsd@mastodon.sdf.org

You could create a user - https://wiki.netbsd.org/ports/evbarm/#index6h3 and then ssh into RPi or if you have USB-serial cable you could log in to serial console. Not sure if NetBSD will detect RPi at host computer as ucom(4) device via USB.

I am not blaming NetBSD folks for importing that thing, but I am rather wondering if it is possible to filter out all LLM-generated code at all. In case of tmux, such code was not imported. Also it is a matter of definitions - is 3rd party software part of OS once its code has been imported? As an example, for OpenBSD devs it seems to be not, because they are okay with including LLM-generated code in tmux and llvm. @JdeBP@mastodonapp.uk @rl_dane@polymaths.social @jaypatelani@bsd.network @corvus@mapstodon.space @cmccullough@polymaths.social @netbsd@mastodon.sdf.org

Is this site reliable? Because it finds 1 LLM-assisted commit in NetBSD src, but nothing in OpenBSD src (it is hard to forgot about their tmux story). https://slopscan.ava.pet/repo/https%3A%2F%2Fgithub%2Ecom%2FNetBSD%2Fsrc https://slopscan.ava.pet/repo/https%3A%2F%2Fgithub%2Ecom%2Fopenbsd%2Fsrc @rl_dane@polymaths.social @jaypatelani@bsd.network @corvus@mapstodon.space @cmccullough@polymaths.social

  1. Middle mouse button copy/paste This is an X11ism. It was turned off for 96% of users, because often leads to endless confusion. Goodbye X11.
