Between Beastmaster 2 and Hawk the Slayer, that's two Monsterdon movies (okay B2 is a double-feature where Hawk was a main) that have come up recently that featured a villain with a honestly-not-that-bad-why-are-you-making-it-your-whole-thing facial injury that just needed some ointment and "don't poke it with green magic for a while". #Beastmaster2 #Monsterdon

Darn, shame I missed out on #Monsterdon - any excuse to watch werewolf movies, and especially an (admittedly disappointing) adaptation of the Whitley Strieber book, The Wolfen, which I thoroughly enjoyed as a kid. The film is something I enjoy sharing with Werewolf: The Apocalypse peeps. Looking forward to seeing how it went down 😅

Someone needs to find the Google employee who added a share button into Chrome which doesn't copy a link to a page but instead wraps it in a trackable Google share link (which often doesn't resolve, possibly thanks to anti-tracking plug-ins) - and shake them the atomic bonds between their molecules fail 😈

I'm just saying that if _I_ were a faux-European-Gay-Designer stereotype (working at an 80% off liquidation sale clothing sale store no-less!), I'm not sure that a bold, rugged, man wearing a leather mask and threatening to "split me in two" would be quite the deterrent our villain intends it as. LB: I did receive that GOG newsletter in Germany too and I did have a WTF reaction on seeing the subject... 🙃

Tbh I was already getting increasingly fed up of the FOMO-inducing "here's a discount code but we won't tell you what it's for exactly and it will expire in 24h" , then if you were to make a purchase, they'd immediately follow up with another email informing you of all the other games you should buy.

@CactuarJoe@retro.pizza oh, that's a fabrication for the movie 😅 (I still see it as a Edward James Olmos messing around - just headspace shape-shifting) The book is worth looking out if you're a fan of werewolves - The Wolfen are wolf-like creatures, and the book alternates perspectives between the human protagonists and a pack of Wolfen trying to confound the investigation into them. But on the subject of Whitley Streiber - he also wrote the (purportedly) autobiographical alien-abduction story Communion, which was turned into a film starring Christopher Walken as the author. 👽 It's wild.

Late to the Monsterdon party - but heck, I'm up early, and I can sorta scroll back 5 hours on the hashtag to follow allow with y'all 😀 I haven't watched Solarbabies since I was a kid, but remember several elements of it - the surgical bot, and the hallucinations used to torture someone. I seem to have misremembered in-line skates - I could have sworn this was the movie that introduced them to me. Maybe it was Hackers (which would make more sense, as I saw Rollerblades as a 90s thing) #Monsterdon #MonsterdonCatchup #Solarbabies

Just started on Green City Wars by Adrian Tchaikovsky.
