Not now babe @grimalkina@mastodon.social’s book is finally here

@technocrow@blahaj.zone I got my first job because people using my hobby software were looking for devs. I think “I may be an industry junior, but I have a proven track record of delivering working software and self-discipline, motivation and project management skills to do so” is a good selling point to a lot of companies

@glyph@mastodon.social Oh yeah, my main question around AI still is “ok so AI enables people to do all things, ok cool, you as a founder is asking everyone to act like a founder, fine with me—but why should I be a founder as an employee of your company instead of starting mine?”

@malcircuit@thingy.social This seems to be The Brother Way and I love it so much that whenever I want to buy something, I check if they make it first. Like, they even made me like my printer. Printer!

@atoponce Good that we have a healthy browser competition and it’s easy to switch

@glyph@mastodon.social Thanks for allowing me to reply to a conversation with a link to this instead of having to think about articulating it myself! :) No seriously, well written.

@j_bertolotti Yeah but that requires participation. The Great Filter of Mastodon

@zoul@boskovice.social To je mimo EU kazdodenni realita, kterou se navic snazi protlacit do “kamennych” obchodu. Ale treba to co se deje americkejm sestrickam je vylozene nechutny

@matdevdug@c.im Anybody still uses google? I thought it’s like Facebook, relict of a previous age

@molly0xfff@hachyderm.io Oh yeah research the story of our current central banker more if you want to be entertained and less depressed about US

@OmniGroup@mastodon.omnigroup.com I really appreciate your approach to integrating LLMs and I wish it’d be more widespread

@danirabbit@mastodon.online Well, yes, but web apps are still the freest of mobile platforms, unfortunately

@danluu I think it may also be that quality is dragged down by nondev contributors who effectively prototype, but because result is prod-shaped, it goes to prod. I wonder how that will develop going forward

@pamelafox @nedbat The way they could show contempt and answer questions in a way that was designed to make you feel dumb because you don’t know some particular wiring was legendary. Sort of exactly in this way

@0xabad1dea I misclicked and now my iPhone 11 is almost bricked :(

@daisy Regular experience at some work Slacks

@filippo@abyssdomain.expert This is common for me, regularly also happens that authors do not see my CRs until they clear cache

@dev@discuss.systems just one more ASI bro I promise

@frank@frankwiles.social @freakboy3742@cloudisland.nz @andrew@fedi.aeracode.org I was visiting a witch doctor in a different country than OP and it worked the same. There is a true cabal going around and I love them

@evacide@hachyderm.io Oh hai, welcome! Hope you’ll enjoy!

@Daojoan@mastodon.social I regularly discover people with a single mailbox exist and I’m horrified

@anon_opin@mastodon.social I forgive teenagers. You have to learn somehow

@nixCraft@mastodon.social Agreed but that said, half a year ago there were posts saying “if this says what it says, we should be drowning in shovelware and ai don’t see it”—I guess now we do
