@Edent@mastodon.social But yes, I actually like these tap-on/tap-off systems and I think they're the next best thing when public transport is not free. In my country, Czechia, I know at least Brno and Liberec have a similar system, but Prague (the capital, where I live right now) does not, which I find mind boggling. It's the biggest tourist destination in Czechia, it would make life so much easier for tourists if it had a tap-on system!

@Edent@mastodon.social I visited Bologna, Italy last week, and it had the same system as you describe for Milano. One problem with it was that when I was researching the fares, I was not able to easily find official sources saying it worked like that there. I was only able to figure it out thanks to some discussions on Reddit and Facebook my search engine spit out.

@nobodyinperson @johanneskastl @forgejo I did use gitattributes! You can set git config options directly for Forgejo via the [git.config] section. Set 'core.attributesFile' and 'diff..textconv' there, then in the gitattributes set 'diff=' for the filetypes you want to convert like this.

@Edent@mastodon.social Linz, Austria also has something like this, but instead of tapping with a card, you do a swipe in an app that you have to register with beforhand. It's nice that you can also put "companions" down, so you can then get tickets for multiple people at once from a single account.
Even then, I found it slightly annoying that I had to set it up, I would have still preferred to just tap my card in the tram.

@mk@bsd.network Now I think the problem is that there is no consensus on the "handful of things" about Make that keep it from actually being "good", so if you fork it and fix the ones YOU think are broken, you get the XKCD 927 situation all over again anyway. I'm afraid it might just be too late for C to find an objectively good solution to "the build system problem".

@andrewrk@mastodon.social Perhaps the metaphorical "copy-on-write" of issues and PRs warrants a bit of a clearer description of the process you have in mind?
In case we want to comment on something that is already open on GitHub, how do we do that? Do we open a new issue/PR on Codeberg, copy-paste the title, put something like "cont'd from " in the description and continue on Codeberg like that?
