@Aphrodite@chaos.social Well, a problem with how we speak about left/right is that we make it seem like it's the only axis that matters. We also have the axes of authoritarianism vs liberalism, and progressivism vs conservatism.
Many people think that left is automatically progressive and mild liberal but that doesn't have to be the case, and often isn't.
Just in case you're surprised to see @ainmosni@social.ainmosni.eu following you, that is not an imposter, it's me testing out my own FediInstance, and if #GoToSocial works well, it will most likely become my main account.

Things are so much more complex, but that so often gets lost because who has time for nuance when we need to cheer on our team.

Well, outside of that bottle I mentioned, because I really needed that after doing PHP again.

I think you're misunderstanding me, my point was more that talking just about left/right misses a lot of nuance.
There's also progressive vs conservative, authoritarian vs libertarian (not the creepy dudes who want to remove the age of consent) and more.
There's enough left wing bigots in this world to prove it's not an exclusive trait to either side.

Interestingly enough, I consider those definitions more to the progressive vs conservative axis, less to the left/righ axis, which I've more seen as group priority vs individual priority.
