He was an artist, and he had a favorite medium.

It's really funny* how these frontier models are apparently learning *every possible way to cheat and get access* while never ever optimizing to use git clone instead of scraping HTML over and over and over.
*a fucking embarrassment to my profession, a red hot coal underfoot

Now, this is delicate, because for men, complimenting women is a delicate affair with power imbalances baked in. @alice@lgbtqia.space said it well, and I'll try to paraphrase: if you're going to compliment as a man, do it while always leaving the other person a way out. Compliment *as you're leaving*. Compliment *and leave*. Don't compliment *and expect something in return*.
I love how Eric Barone worked for ages on Stardew Valley, modified each character endless times, edited and improved and perfected the game in an almost Tolkienian fashion, but also left this weird-ass bed diagonally in the middle of the room because fuck it, that's why.
Sometimes you have friends who need to be rolled inside a blanket into a therapeutic blanket burrito, and sometimes you need to be rolled into the therapy burrito.

@astronomerritt@hachyderm.io you could introduce emus to your patio to have them eat the dandelions, and when the emu population gets unwieldy you can call in the Australian army to deal with them.

@jesuislibre@infosec.exchange Don't be insulting. I asked: did the authorities actually approve these stupid procedures, or did you just imagine it?
Because, as far as I read, it doesn't work like that. Tesla chose a specific path that requires certain certifications and decided not to present them because they are cool like that.
And then also posted this completely asinine list of bullshit.
And then you came in to defend them, because obviously they needed the help.
Clearer now?

@Ashedryden@xoxo.zone What we need is people learning stories and experiences, and thinking about them. If they do that by reading with their eyeballs, or by somebody else reading it to them, or just by listening to them, I don't care. I don't care that much about the medium, in this context. I care about the sharing and the learning.
There is a pleasure in books. It's not the dick-waving about purity or tradition or superiority.

It's a bit more complex than that. In the early 1800s, there wasn't an Argentina yet. It was a collection of provinces that did whatever they wanted, with some semblances of union sometimes. And the Year 13 (1813) Assembly (Asamblea del año 13) did grant freedom of wombs to slaves. But Argentina's constitution was only finally written and signed in the 1850s.
Many Black people died in the war of Paraguay, an utter carnage where, as Mekka says, they were sent as fodder.

Went with my kid and printed 20 pictures of Piccetti, to better remember him by.

@mathowie@xoxo.zone The war of Paraguay was a particularly sorry business where IIRC world powers, through Argentina, Brasil and Uruguay, tried to curbstomp Paraguay, who were developing in a way Britain did not particularly like. The war dead meant Paraguay's ratio of women to men took ages to rebalance, IIRC. And still they didn't exactly lose.

Yesterday I had a nice talk with my 10 year old about why I play games like Bloodborne. The sense of accomplishment after winning a hard battle, the comfort in replaying a well-known game the same way she likes rewatching some shows, the familiarity with its bits.

Please understand the depth, the big, wide gap, between those two concepts you just typed. Please notice the difference between comments mocking a single person on mastodon for having a hot take and "How the current generation of llms were developed and are being used is revolting".

Or just to keep it local, dolphin-made horrors. Octopus-made horrors. Something.
This mnemonic for the reading of 型 (Model) took a weird turn.
"What model catapult (かた) is this? Is it the trebuchet or the mangonel type? Only one model can aim at your ex's window with the right trajectory. Catapult model matters!"
Evidentemente no aprendieron. La letra no entró, y ya se creyeron que no pasa nada.

No, it lets you be a manager. You say stuff and somebody else does it, and you don't know or care exactly how. That's management.

“What I most appreciate about Truck-kun is that it separates me from the icky isekai part. I never have to bother with Carissa in the fantasy world because my main job is in the real world, hitting as many objects and pedestrians as possible while she takes care of the rest.”
The icky part is not, somehow, hitting pedestrians with a truck. Though yes, some isekai…
