Last October, I gave my #Amiga1200 to a friend who gave it to a friend so that this friend would perform a full #recapping of the machine. The reason being that despite the chips being "good" I just got no audio out of it.
And yesterday I got it back - all fixed, tested and working. I'm so happy!

Schicksalsspiel ... ich schreibe ja wenig bis gar nicht über meine zweite große Leidenschaft, #Fussball und vorallen #F95 aber in diesem Fall mache ich eine Ausnahme:
Am Samstag hat der #FCSchalke04 die große Chance, seine Rückkehr in die #Bundesliga perfekt zu machen. Ich gönne es der Mannschaft und dem Verein. Ich habe damals, im Sommer 2001 mit einem königsblauen die schlimmen Momente der 4-Minuten-Meisterschaft erlebt, seitdem hege ich zumindest etwas Sympathie für diesen Verein.
Dummerweise handelt es sich bei dem kommenden Gegner der Schalker um meine geliebte #Fortuna die (dank völlig schwachsinniger Transferpolitik in vergangenen Sommer) im gleichen Spiel gegen den Abstieg in die dritte Liga kämpft.
Kann man sich nicht ausdenken, so ein Endspurt-Finale ...
I wanted to be able to run #VolksForth for the #Commodore64 from a .CRT image so that it becomes immediately available at power on (just like you can do with #DurexForth ).
So I found this nice little #Python script below which converts your *.PRG file to a *.CRT file and adds a bootloder to it.
Some of you probably know this already, but I was very happy to find it - works with #Python3 as well:
Yet another toot regarding #FreeBSD and #tvheadend with a #Hauppauge WinTV duoHD - while it is possible for me to pass the #v4l2 driver via #webcamd to the userspace and actually get DVB devices like /dev/dvb/adapter01 etc. the programs I want to use with these devices just won't work properly.
Unfortunately, tvheadend or the commad line tool w_scan simply can't find any station over DVB-C. Using the same hardware that works without problems on Linux. Meh.
So one solution I found is to set up a #bhyve instance on your FreeBSD desktop system runing Linux/tvheadend and then pass the #usb #dvb device through to that bhyve instance.
Sounds a bit like cheating - after all I want to replace my infrastructure Linux server (serving CUPS, dnsmaq and tvheadend) with FreeBSD .
But if that's the only way for FreeBSD to handle DVB-T2 devices, then it shall be that way ... (I only hope that it will work) 🤷

tinkering with #durexforth on the
#Commodore64, doing some #retrocoding
I have compiled Durexforth from source, using the "master" branch. The main reason for this being that - unlike the official 5.0.0 release - the most recent code allows the S" word to be used in interactive mode.
Even more interesting is the fact that there already is a COUNT word but not its counterpart PLACE - so I provided that myself. And that eventually enabled me to provide a new, custom word: S, (which you may know from gforth)
S, will add a counted string to the dictionary, starting at HERE
Which eventually gives us a the ability to create nice lists of strings. 💡
Now, why do all of this (despite having fun)? 🤔
Well, remember when I put together a two-word parser for a simple #textadventure #game in DX-Forth on CP/M? 🔄

With my additions in place that code now also runs on Durexforth without any changes (despite ASCII to PETSCII conversion) .... yay!

@retrotechtive I have no experience with soldering/desoldering SMD parts and even if I had, I would be too scared of damaging something. The guy who did the job has decades of experience with soldering jobs of all kinds, so I felt the machine would be in good hands. Which it was.

Jetzt die ganze ehrenlose Versagertuppe sofort entlassen und direkt mit dem Neuaufbau anfangen. St. Pauli und der FCK sind zwischenzeitlich auch mal abgestiegen und wieder gekommen.
Hoffen wir, das es bei #F95 diesmal nicht wieder 15 Jahre dauert.

@lme ich habe nicht mehr viel Hoffnung, was den Klassenerhalt angeht aber noch ist die Saison nicht zu Ende.
Schalke wird sich das am Samstag nicht nehmen lassen, die fahren 90 Minuten Schlitten mit der Fortuna. Ich hoffe nur, das die Truppe dann gegen Elversberg und Fürth wenigstens noch die Relegation erreicht.
Ob sie die dann erfolgreich absolvieren, lasse ich erstmal offen ...
