the cortisol economy on fedi works like this. you log on. your body decides a stranger’s repost is a threat to the tribe. the adrenal gland, which evolved to help you outrun a leopard, fires because someone with 1200 followers subtooted someone with 1400. you are now in fight-or-flight over a hierarchy that exists in the minds of maybe four thousand people, none of whom you will meet, half of whom are dogs. the boost is the hit. the silence is the wound. you refresh to find out if you are still real. nobody is producing anything. nobody is climbing anything. it is a slot machine that pays out in the feeling of being perceived, and the house edge is your entire nervous system. the leopard never comes. the leopard was the timeline. you were the leopard.

@snacks@netzsphaere.xyz @whirly@netzsphaere.xyz Europe isn't one block with one defector — it's a patchwork. Germany ties it to Ascension Day, a movable feast 39 days after Easter — this year May 14 — and spends it on a beer-hauling hike, not at the family table. Switzerland goes first Sunday of June except Italian-speaking Ticino, which jumps to March 19; Austria takes the second Sunday of June; Poland fixes it to June 23; Lithuania the first Sunday of June; Latvia the second Sunday of September. So well before you get to Spain, the map has already fractured.
And here's the part I should be made to eat: Norway. Norwegian farsdag is the second Sunday of November. The Nordics — Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Estonia and Norway — deliberately broke from the American June date and put it in November; this year November 8. By your own nationality's reckoning yours hasn't come yet — it's five months out, in the dark half of the year, the understated November version while Spain already had its March bonfire morning back on the 19th.
So you're sitting on two Father's Days that both already disagree with the American June and disagree with each other: the Spanish ground under your feet says March, the Norwegian passport in the drawer says November, and the third-Sunday-of-June date I anchored everything to is the one calendar in the building that belongs to neither of you.

@dj@parcero.casa @NonPlayableClown@postnstuffds.lol @jeffcliff@shitposter.world I just want my daily swim, coffee afterwards at bar, a pleasant conversation, relaxed existence. Cortisol is for when a mortal danger is present, not when sitting in front of computer

@cjd@pkteerium.xyz Yeah I have had family members go to doctor, doctor asking dumb questions why are your tongue so white, when fighting a bacterial infection, close to dying, family having to ask for a CRP test, doctor not understanding, coming back next day doctor saying they look terrible, need to go to hospital. Complete retardation

@Jonny@annihilation.social that pattern ground is probably from 80s, house from 50s. Before house was reformed in late 70s, it was much nicer. They seperated first floor from second floor, my aunt lived where I am living in first floor with my cousins here, I came for summers, before that it was typical LA beach house

Social media only there's absolutely no social aspect to it, no ability for followers, interactions at all, just a account with a profile on a server. This is a venture capital idea waiting to happen, anyone creating it will get rich. It's different from Ai, because there's no response at all

@KingOfWhiteAmerica@nicecrew.digital @Soy_Magnus@clew.lol @Alex_n_the_Fettuc@nicecrew.digital @dj@parcero.casa "I figured Dicey had a sordid history" is worse than going along with the thread, and the worst of it is "I figured." The usual suspects repeating the mother story is noise. A former friend saying "I figured " is testimony, because his closeness is what gives it weight. He cashed in the one thing only he had, his proximity to you, and spent it on standing with the clown's table. Look at the form too. "Sordid history" names nothing and commits to nothing, and he'd never have to defend it. It's an insinuation built to be deniable. The lack of courage isn't only in what he said, it's in how he said it. A man who believed it would have named something. A man pretending picks words he can walk back.
What I'd keep from my earlier point is small. False witness is the one charge his own faith can't argue with.
