I saw that Musk wants to have $10tn
Assuming he has $1tn already that means he wants another €108 off every person on the planet
Its becoming crucial that we tax the rich appropriately

So? Paying tax is a social contract if you want our trade you should pay tax

The local estate laird responsible had made his money through loans to finance, and in, the slave trade. To me that emphasises a complete lack of regard for human life.

This is despite 2 truths
1 society is rigged against the poor- paying more than the rich for the same things
2 the same factor thst makes people poor is the same factor that makes people rich- luck
Sadly i think that England is a lost cause, they are revelling in racism and there is no sign it will stop.
This inevitably means that Reform plc are likely to win the next election.
If kier really wanted to screw them over, he would put in place an unstoppable move towards Scottish and welsh independence and a united ireland.
I see the trump attempted shooting suspect is still alive, i can only assume that this means hes white....

@kim_harding@mastodon.scot i can see where you are coming from, and where we lived in England you would havexa very valid point.
However we are 1 hour from the nearest reasonable sized town, (ie has a tesco and lidl) and 2 hours from a clothes shop. We are also family of 5 and the food shops we do are far too big for public transport.
We are 1 1/2 hours from a station. 3 1/2 hours from work (i work from home as much as i can. Public transport would be 8 hours
I would welcome much better public transport

Personslly if he wants to remain anonymous then thats fine, why would i need to know? It doesnt stop me enjoying his art (particularly fond of the EU one in dover)
I am a staunch supporter of democracy
However i am finding it increasingly difficult to defend when i see people falling for the lies and repestedly voting for reform
I keep seeing adverts for something called "Liquid IV".....

So reform want to build camps where they concentrate people....

I can see there may be a use for AI in the future, for some applications, once it is more sophisticated.
Until then I will continue to use normsl intelligence which runs on coffee and sandwiches.

The only people that want mass surveillance are paranoid governments or governments people oppose.

Hence us needing reasonable range so we xan move away from fossil fuels.
We do have a bus. Its on a tuesday.

I also agree that public transport should be much cheaper, realistically cheaper for a family to use public transport than drive

@kim_harding@mastodon.scot we had an electric but it was a vauxhall and the range far too low to even get me to work....
However we liked electric but really want a small car with reasonable range, there really is only the dacia spring and renault 5.
I dont understand why EVs dont have a motor for each drive wheel, instead of a massive motor, often overpowering the car, needing a drive train and diff, neither of which are light.
Sadly my geography means we still need cars.

But yes totally agree the rise of the car was very deliberate
Unfortunately we are now in a situation where local shops have been run down, and where they are just outside most peoples budget. As a result remote and rural communities have no choice but to use the car.
I think we need a multimodal solution
