kdrnic
My main interests include retro games, game development, and programming in C; sometimes those combine into retro game development in C.
I am also interested in electronics, but am not as knowledgeable.
Lesser interests include some (very) basic woodworking and astronomy, (very) limited by equipment and location.
I don't do any of those things professionally, they are only a hobby to me.
A simple and complex thing at the same time: Bresenham's line algorithm (drawing 10k lines), coded in C, compiled with my own C compiler (I call it kdrniccc), assembled with nasm, linked with DJGPP's linker, running on an emulated 386, through DOSBox-X
I estimate the "fill rate" at 15 kilopixels / second
(avg. line = (320^2-1)/(320*3) pixels long)*(10000 lines)/(1min10 = 70 seconds)
Another #electronics experiment: a delay line oscillator.
It is built around a Philips luminance delay line from a scrapped television.
It is essentially a mini transmission line, with a delay of 330n and Z=1000 ohms.
It works well, but I expected a frequency near 1/(330nano*2)=1515kHz, and I am getting 1049kHz instead. It is quite stable. Heated with a 600W hairdryer for 1 minute it went up to 1100kHz.
