Does anyone know if there’s a paper or even a book on the history of… #Coroutines! To make it even harder: a text that starts at the beginning of times and track their evolution until their current form as implemented in either #Lua or #Kotlin (which I’ve worked with, so would be easier for me to follow) #programming

@lzg Dawkins is the perfect candidate to fall for these things. Fucking Islamophobic, probably a racist, definitely misogynistic. Is one of those people that at some point respected, but my respect died quickly and I’m glad I never spent time or money in his books

@lzg oh yeah, I can agree with that. Although in all honestly I did experience anxiety for being told that what I enjoy doing and have the luck to be paid for would disappear, so I blame both sides really. And I’m still a hater, but I’ve posted it before: I like my hate to have good reasons

@jenesuispasgoth yeah, so syntax is one thing, but that’s why I mentioned APL. Having to learn a language is not the problem. However now I lean more towards thinking of languages as good because you break the rules and everything is still fine. But if you need certain discipline to use it, I would say it’s bad

@typeswitch@gamedev.lgbt this is why I can’t just leave macOS. I switched to English layout when I learnt to touch type, and because I was on a Mac I could still type in Spanish easily. Same now that I write some Norwegian. One layout, three languages, no problem. Your point still stands though, but I won’t shut up about macOS being great in this regard

I read it before November 2022 so what stuck with me back then was the discourse on ageism. But now I keep thinking about it from the knowledge angle

@spiralganglion@merveilles.town I used to be a lyrics are the cherry on top of music, but now they are really important to me. Sure music makes me feel dizzy just because, but lyrics make me relate. My currently singer songwriter now is Florence Welch. When my ex dumped me I rediscovered the How big, how blue how beautiful album. Now I know that I always related to those lyrics, but I couldn’t admit it. That relationship was already doomed 😅
