@aadschippers mijn theorie is dat veel mensen zich bedreigd voelen door mensen die anders zijn dan ze gewend zijn. De mensen die die gevoelens eerlijk onderzoeken komen daar over heen en worden tolerant. De mensen voor wie een eerlijke kijk in de spiegel te moeilijk is geven liever de ander de schuld van hun ongemak, en gaan op zoek naar redenen om de andere te haten. Dat soort mensen worden kwezelaars.

@Tattie Had you asked me as a child/young adult"would you rather be a girl/woman" I probably wouldn't have dared to say yes, but it never popped into my head because it just didn't register as a possibility. Basically everything after LG in LGBT+ was a cultural blind spot. And yet looking back I now do recognize some of my bad feelings back then were gender dysphoria. But at the time I either felt shame or I brushed it aside as normal. It just never came to that conscious "I am a girl" thought.

@tilton That's their whole marketing. They're trying their hardest to make it look like neural networks (and LLMs specifically) are super close to being turned into artificial general intelligence with just a little more investment. Personally I don't think that's gonna work. But then again fortunately I don't have billions of dollars of investments which will be worth far less if LLMs don't replace like 10% of all workers. :D

@jeffowski People can fantasize about some other people starting the revolution, but in the end, if nobody is willing to do legal, safe and easy stuff to make the world better, why would you expect anyone to do the illegal, dangerous and hard stuff? You can make some lifestyle changes AND demand governments and companies behave better. We're gonna need both, because even without the CEOs and the 1%, we still got way to much animal agriculture and fossil fuel powered transport to be sustainable.

@FinalGirl@blackqueer.life Transphobia in general is irreconcilable with feminism because transphobia is fundamentally sexist. Someone who really believes in gender or sex equality wouldn't have problems with people changing genders (or choosing to have none or multiple or unconventional ones), and they certainly wouldn't constantly reinvent sex essentialism from different angles (souls, genes, bones, socialization... the list goes on).

@jenniferplusplus@hachyderm.io I've been using a huion kamvas 13 on my Linux Mint running Microsoft laptop. At least, untill last week when I dropped something heavy on it and shattered the screen. 😭 I ordered a second hand replacement for the tablet for 50 euros. Comes without a stylus but I still have that one so I assume it won't be a problem. Prices for complete sets seem to range between 100 and 150 euros. Screen doesn't have as much range as the laptop, but overall I was very happy with it.
