When historians document this time, and discuss the imagery of 2020s facism, there will be Gen AI renderings of Trump, of propaganda against minority groups and political rivals. Of a tone so common to anything produced by AI for these purposes. It will bring a shame akin to Nazi Neoclassicism.
Kids come into the world fresh with no understanding of anything at all, and as a parent it’s your job to explain the world as it is and how to navigate it. So when parents avoid talking about material realities, like the existence of trans people, they’re doing a huge disservice to their children.
People will go on and on about how there are no boy toys or girl toys, but the moment a trans person speaks on their childhood, suddenly toys have gender, and gender exclusivity.
“Graham Platner wasn’t properly vetted,” like we all didn’t learn about his Nazi tattoos back in October and people still decided to support him anyway.
If leftists have problems messaging Black communities, it’s because they engage in class reductionism to the extent that it flattens Black identities and anti-Black prejudices to socioeconomic concerns, ignoring or minimizing the racial axis that Black people are intimately familiar with.

Being anti-trans is easy hot take bait with a revenue track associated with it. Being pro-Trans does the opposite, flags you as “political,” and risky. Being trans? Pure harassment.
With gas prices so high, and food prices so high, and housing costs so high, Americans are focused on the real issues: trans women doing basically anything.
People who work for a living and don’t have a ton of income somehow “class ambiguous” because they are educated. Trying to make “working class” anything other than people who have to work for a living is self defeating and stupid.
All this talk about black people not being leftist, like our versions of leftism don’t get criminalized. Just look at where we’re at with Black Lives Matter, and how muted the center left is about the White House’s claims of it being extremist.

My five year old is using the World Cup as an excuse to watch the games together to try to stay up late, but I genuinely enjoy the time we’re spending together so I guess I’ll just let it slide. Also every time we watch a game together it’s been a good one.
Trump came into office and Hakeem Jeffries went up to a podium and asked what he was supposed to do. We had a year’s worth of think tanks debating who’s liberties should be sacrificed for the sake of winning. Now we get to midterms and these same people are crying foul because their base wants to vote for people who actually want to fight.
Eventually, I think people on the left need to have a hard look at the metrics to which we judge candidate quality. We dismiss women, people of color, queer people, and non-Christians out of hand for not fitting a mold and question their electability. But give people like Platner chances and overlook obvious flaws because he looks the part.
Cis passing could stand to be analyzed from the perspective of and social dynamics associated with colorism and white passing. That’s not to say that cis passing is inherently colorist, I don’t think it is, but that the social pressures and active and inactive efforts to achieve passing status are very similar.

Every trans person, Black person, and other minority group killed is all kin in one way: in death, they are mocked and assigned self as the cause for their demise, even as mere existence. Such is the way oppression attempts to morally justify itself.
One thing that’s rung true out of this whole affair is that I’m the least alone than I ever have been, even if not all of my family comes along for my joy. I’ve already built anew.
