Facebook has useful aspects. It is connecting people.
Right now I'm active in a protest and all of the coordination is done through Whatsapp (that is at a certain stage in the enshitiffication cycle).
We need to make it easy for people to communicate and as much as possible without the harmful parts.

Pax Romana was a real thing. Once the empire collapsed in the west, trade became much more dangerous and was greatly reduced. Because when you're going from one city to another, there's a much higher chance of getting robbed (and probably killed).

It's an interesting read. part of what Netflix did is obvious green washing. But it did reduce power consumption as well. Also note that showing only 2021-2024 is a bit cherry-picking in Netflix's favour.
At the time there was huge pressure to reduce power consumption. This pressure has greatly reduced.
שוב חוזר מהפגנת סוף שבוע בצומת ראש פינה. שכחתי לספור כמה היינו, אבל נראה לי שבערך כמו בשבוע שעבר. הייתה נוכחות גדולה יותר של לובשי חולצות #עומדים_ביחד היום.
נשאתי שלט חלבי יחסית של „צדק, חרות, שלום” והייתי עם חולצת #הדמוקרטים כי לא הספקתי להחליף לחולצה אחרת.
שאלה כללית: מישהו כאן הדהד הרגע הודעה שברור מאוד שהוא לא מסכים עם תוכנה, כנראה (ניחוש שלי) כדי לחשוף אותנו לתוכן שלה.
סליחה על הבורות בענייני נהלים, אבל האם זה סביר? כלומר האם ברור שהדהוד אינו בהכרח הסכמה עם התוכן?
ספינת התבואה האוקראינית הגנובה: במשרד החוץ התחמקו ולא נתנו תשובה (ביקשו מרשות המיסים לעיין במסמכים שיוגשו רק לאחר עגינת הספינה).

בבחירות האחרונות, לפני כל סיפור המהפכה המשטרית והשבעה באוקטובר, הקואליציה של נתניהו קיבלה חצי מהקולות. אם היינו, תיאורטית, מחלקים את זה לשתי מפלגות, זה היה יוצא 60:60. כיום הקואליציה של נתניהו לא מצליחה להתרומם מעל 50 בסקרים.
נתניהו תמיד היה מנהיג של חצי מהעם.
הכיבוש הוא בעיה, אבל כל עוד נתניהו בשלטון, לא נגיע לעיסוק בה והיא רק תחמיר.

Israel participated in the Asian Games up until the end of the 1970-s.
The Eurovision is by members of the European Broadcasting Union. Israel (and Morocco and Tunisia) are members since 1957, and Egypt has already been a member before that.
Surprisingly enough, Israelis are interested in contests in which its people participate (that is: mostly only watch one semi-final of the Eurovision).

Not exactly. The US, for instance, changed its immigration laws gradually, and specifically major changes in 1921 and 1925. I suppose Argentina and other countries had also changed their immigration laws roughly at the same time or before.

What I dislike about this resolution is that it solidifies slave trade to the Transatlantic one. At the time, there was still trade of European slaves: mostly Slavs in Crimea, and whatever pirates would capture (regardless of race and religion) in the Mediterranean.
That was the norm, and the norm was only changed by people of the West (who some people here so hate) that decided that we are all equal and that people should not be traded.

I'm trying to understand what you object specifically.
A specific company that is in bed with problematic president is of course problematic.
But is the problem the whole idea of military industrial complex? If so, what are the alternatives? Those could be of two flavors (or combinations of):
- The threats we face are not as large, we could use a smaller budget.
- We don't need companies in that field. But if not companies: what?

a reporter reported corruption in the city of Ashkelon and that led to a criminal investigation. All the money involved there was not even the cost of a nice Banksy painting. And noone was killed. So no journalist should really be looking into it, right?

Right, there are. But at the moment #Whatsapp is what everybody uses. I operate a #XMPP server. I tried getting people to use it. No luck.
Whatsapp works. People use it. Calling it "crap" won't get you far with people.

There are hardly any people. I'm one of the only people who won't, and it surprises people.
It is a de-facto communication channel between people. For instance, for parents at school, for people in a building or in a neighborhood.
I manage to avoid it in some places by having friends as proxies. And generally not having it is a problem.

FTR: Hezbollah is not holding its fire either. There is a constant stream of attacks from their side as well.
The "ceasefire" basically means now "please keep the fire to the area of South Lebanon and let anyone else live in peace". In Israel some border towns and villages are getting alerts, but almost only those really close to the border.

War is not about being nice. It is about being in a position to force the other side, or having leverage in negotiations.
Iran has its own advantages: home bases, being able to selectively block Hormuz (only Iranian oil flows through).
That ship was on its way to be a tool in that blockade, and the US is trying to lift that blockade. The first thing it needs is to get rid of the Iranian war ships.

Nowadays civilian ships are either cargo ships with a small team or cruise ship.
This was not one. This is a war ship that belonged to some branch of the Iranian armed forces (military or Revolutionary Guard).
