Finally, I have come to terms with the fact that I draw the way I do.
For years, you’d never catch me without a notebook and a pen. At some point, I stopped because of the pressure I put on myself. I felt increasingly awkward around bystanders and friends who – or so I thought – expected me to draw pretty or witty things. I began to hate my drawings, and drawing itself, to the point of disgust. But now enough time has passed, I think, and I’m happy to report that I enjoy drawing again.

I kept track of last month’s notable type releases for @typetodaynews@bird.makeup and could have easily selected some more good work.
According to ‘Dunbar’s number’, people can maintain stable and meaningful relationships with 150 others (including pets?). I’ve just finished reviewing well over 150 entries for the #tdc72 competition. Phew.
At least two handfuls of fonts that I used to hang out with must have vanished from my memory. I wonder who they are.
Interesting: foundries Fort and Hoodzpah offer their combined catalogues via a subscription service and an app, with the added bonus of one or (in the premium package) two lifetime licences per year of membership.
Berlin Walls earlier this month, The Hague Wall this week.
Baked cake, fathered, stocked shelves, and read a bit in the latest Experimental Jetset, Statement and Counterstatement 2. From the remixed quotes section:
In short, we came across many examples of activism being inspired by archivism, and archivism being inspired by activism. This really made us aware of these twin notions – the archived activity and the activated archive.
