What’s your recommended (and currently relevant) reading about typographic design for the web, particularly evaluating and choosing typefaces? A friend asked me this, and I thought y’all would have better answers than I do.

It’s a strange experience to finally sneak out the “in-progress” release of a typeface I started 14 years ago, with little fanfare on a Thursday afternoon before a holiday weekend. But... here’s Lyric! It’s still not done! https://xyztype.com/fonts/lyric

#introduction: I run the small type foundry XYZ Type (https://xyztype.com) with @benkiel@typo.social, where we make typefaces (retail and custom), and lettering (mostly logotypes for branding agencies). I live in Beacon, NY, a short train ride from Manhattan, near lots of good hiking spots. I’ll probably be pretty quiet here.

The full, immersive RoboFog experience. (From an undergrad project in 2000.)

@colinmford I *think* the pin was for measuring distances?
Btw, in the interest of historical accuracy: I realized after posting that this screenshot is probably Fontographer, whereas the photo I posted after was taken later and shows RoboFog onscreen, after I made the switch. 🎓
