@greenyouthmovement@masto.nu @petergleick@fediscience.org the only acceptable strategy is to rid the world of the rich and their high pollutin' ways. There isn't a single individual action that would equal that unless it's to not have children.

@randahl@mastodon.social it never hurts Republicans when they commit crimes since Republican voters ADORE their white-collar criminals.

@Pepperbike@mastodon.social @randahl@mastodon.social where they don't care is in having an educated opinion. They base most of their ideas on feelings of the person who told them whatever it is they accepted as truth and then weigh that opinion based on how well they trust that person instead of the information itself. Sure, this is anecdotal, but I've found it to be consistent that every batshit idea they come up with originated from a trusted person in their life and not from, "doin' there [sic] research."

@pronounshe@lgbtqia.space @petergleick@fediscience.org they absolutely know it, which is why they've spent so much money in support of denial of it. I think it's also why they've ramped up pollution the past few years since there's no stopping what's coming so may as well benefit from it. That's what it looks like at least.

@petergleick@fediscience.org who wants to bet that 0.35 C a year raises drastically after this Super El Niño? Can we get it to 0.5 C next year and the subsequent years after and if so, do we keep insisting that it's, "sudden catastrophic climate change," or do we finally accept our role in all of this and that the models were false and Guy McPherson was right all along?

@Pepperbike@mastodon.social @randahl@mastodon.social that's certainly how it appears, but I feel it's gotta be much weirder than that based on what we know of these people now. They're deeply submissive. Sure, they want to be rich criminals too, but they would rather work for one than become one. It's all very unusual to me, but apparently being highly submissive is just normal conservative behavior.

@gimulnautti@mastodon.green @tante@tldr.nettime.org I don't think we have to worry about them becoming anything, since they are already what we fear, at least here in the States. Our federal government, along with state and local are all on board, and I've read many statements that suggest that We the People have no say in the construction of these things, and merely being against them is terrorism. I think that makes it obvious what they already are.

@gimulnautti@mastodon.green @amerpie@social.lol that would destroy the United States since we were founded on rich white land owners being able to get away with shady things using a government to protect their interests.

@jcrabapple@dmv.community I would never do this, especially by adding a pebble or two into my shoes to throw off my gait, which can also be detected by these cameras and matched with mobile phone data. Definitely wouldn't do that.

@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social Also, another thing to point out when others claim that Nazis were socialist is that they're purposely leaving out the prefix of that term, or the "Na" in nazi, which is National-Socialist. It was never socialist by itself, but always national socialism, which is just a cheeky backwards Nazi way of saying fascism.

@nixCraft@mastodon.social yes, history often repeats itself, but historically, have we ever seen one specific industry being so heavily subsidized to where this bubble is going to collapse more than a few businesses? I can't say for certain, but I get the feeling that this bubble pop is going to create something we've never seen before and nothing we do will prepare us for what's to come. I hope I'm very wrong, but I rarely am or I'm pretty damn close when it comes to recognizing patterns like this.
